Big talk leading up to this season was all about Sellers, Stewart and Harbor. Safe to say, that's been a big "whomp whomp".

Sellers shows no signs at all of reversing his regression. Frankly, coaches should just sit him down and force him to watch his 2024 highlights on a loop for about 48 hours. Then tell him "just go play like that". He's a run-first QB, and that's ok. Combined with his dynamic running, he was a good enough passer in 2024. He was also just more instinctive, and I think it centers on him being run first as opposed to strictly designed runs.

I was interested to see how Harbor would be this year after seemingly taking a step forward as a WR last year. He's good for about one long bomb a game, it seems. He's a big bodied receiver who doesn't use his physical stature to his advantage. And we just have to accept that we'll never see any great benefit to his freakish speed.

And Stewart.....it's reasonable to think we'll never see him in a Gamecock uniform again.

We've been waiting for the big payoff from these 3 guys, and it's looking like a we're getting a fat IOU.

I said it in another thread, but just imagine if Sellers would have taken that supposed competing offer before last year.

The fanbase would have hated it at the time, but in hindsight, it would probably be better for us.

Harbor was a question mark from the beginning. A DE? A WR? But he wants to focus on track for at least that first season. He seemed like the kind of reach a solidified team takes in case he turns up being a freak. Us? We probably would have been better suited just buying a regular 4 star WR at the time.

And Stewart? Great player, when he plays. BAD attitude. Maybe a team with a more commanding coach or staff could have handled him. Or a more successful team. You dont want a guy like that thinking hes bigger than the team or coach.

I really don't know what' going on with Sellers. In 2024, he had a killer instinct. You could see it on his face.

Now he just looks timid and unsure.

I'm sorry, the harbor part I had to chuckle, he is track guy playing football and it shows.when he is supposed to b ur #1 receiver ur n serious trouble. unless the ball is just glided softly into his hands he's not going to catch it, sellers knows that, I said when sellars bro went out for yr that was going to have huge impact on season, truthfully we don't have one wr that would b 1st string on any top 10 team, much like the rest of the team they lack fundamentals and don't understand the basics. watch on replay where sellars is scrambling it is the rare receiver that will break off the route and instead work way back to sellars. there is no receiver to throw the ball to on 50/50 toss up , the pass sellars made down to the 1 where the kid couldnt hold on because of ground contact yes tough play but winning teams make those catches stewart is 20 pounds light to play pro ball at de and he apparently has some head issues as for sellars and 2024 his receiving corp was so much better, and though yes he makes mistakes and looks bad he's not surrounded by top talent I still think he is Miami bound next yr , but with all 3, player development just seems nonexistent in beamer regime btw worst part of team as in F is secondary, have they ever been coached, don't blame kids all on beamer and frankly embalm of the 6 yrs he's been here thank goodness our incredibly talented and greatly coached women's roungball starts in 40 days, I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to wonder what would the offense look like if Briles came in and started fresh with Woods or Duckworth at QB. Sellers has great talent but having to reprogram three times is asking a lot of a player.

There was reason to be hopeful about Harbor this year. He played pretty well at WR last year and made some tough catches in tight windows.

The main disappointment with me for Harbor is that we haven't seen his track speed translate to the football field. I can't think of a "wow" moment regarding his speed.

Other than a couple last year, mainly that long TD at A&M, yeah... he's looked like a guy who needs 10-12 steps to get up to speed and there hasn't been much evidence of any lateral mobility.

The only one that i can give a pass to is Harbor, He isnt getting targeted enough in my opinion!! cant blame him for that.. I know that they wanted to get the ball in his hands more by putting him on Special teams, but IMO, he is ONLY suited for being a receiver!!

Yeah, for the life of me, I don't know why he's returning kicks. He's not shifty, at all. You're rarely gonna break off a big return running straight ahead.

I think our best pass play is the deep ball to Harbor. We should probably do 5 of those each game.

He has track speed, not football speed. Football speed is being able to get to full speed in two steps and be able to change direction quickly while running at or near full speed. Harbor is a guy who is good at running in a straight line.

Running in a straight line is what he does on kickoffs.
