Actually, they have no idea. This could be a serious jinx, but I don't think I have EVER been this confident in MSU going into the Bama game. I went to Tuscaloosa in 1981 thinking the upset was coming, and what we got was one of the best games I've ever watched but MSU on the short end. But even then, I felt like MSU had to catch a lot of breaks to win. I was kind of confident in 1991, because we had just beaten Auburn, but I still knew it was going to take a lot of breaks. I wasn't even all that confident in 1997, when Bama sucked, just because I had never seen us win in Tuscaloosa. And in 1999 and 2012, I pretty much knew our run of wins were about to come to a close.
This is year is different. I don't think we need breaks. I honestly think if MSU brings its "A" game, then they are much better than Alabama. I listened to Gary Danielson this week saying Bama would win, but he also said that SEC games are always won in the trenches. State is a lot better than Bama in the trenches. If Danielson believed his own mantra, he should have picked MSU...
