Gap-Riverheads, Lee High games now Saturday

That would seem more fair to the teams that have play tonight - and then turn around, and have to play 3 days later seems like much.
I read on 4a board that a team has 3 games within 8 days, and 2 in 3 days because of the cancellations.
It's just hard to schedule with the weather we have had.
I get it Gunz....especially with the crazy, unpredictable weather of late.
But that is a lot to ask of young high school football players on such a short rest.....and the quality of play will probably suffer as well.
No I think you misunderstood. I wasnt advocating it. I am just saying that is what the weather has done. Not that it should be done

We both agree the weather is to blame for all of this.
The question I have is which do you think the 2 teams would have preferred, 3 days last week or this week?
I would think for Lee that it's some of both, as it was a light finish for a game, now I am sure the field at Gap is in terrible shape and Stonewall coming.
For Gap, I would think they would much rather to have played last week
I imagine that was requested by the Bison to get the extra day's rest and if I were them, I would have done the same thing. The only bad thing about moving it is that Friday's weather is supposed to still be sunny and warm, whereas Saturday the chances for rain pick up again.

The Buffalo Gap at Riverheads game has been moved to Saturday at 7 p.m. in Greenville. Meanwhile, the Stonewall Jackson at Robert E. Lee game is now Saturday at noon at Staunton's Winston Wine Stadium.
The moves happened because Buffalo Gap played Lee High on Tuesday, a move prompted by the inclement weather this past weekend. Neither team wanted to play Friday night on just two days rest.

On the positive side, this move should increase what would already be a huge gate for Riverheads. Now we will get not only the usual BG/RHS crowd, but some neutrals from Lee, SD, Wilson, etc. might make the trip as well.
