I think he could be really good this upcoming season.
Fingers crossed.A "Nick Richards as a Junior" type leap forward for Brandon would not surprise me. The same signs are there -- moments that show the height of his ceiling, but frustrating inconsistency brought about in part by a lack of experience and conditioning.
Go for it Brandon. I saw Nick contributing in an NBA game I attended in DC recently. You can get there.
That would be awesome.A "Nick Richards as a Junior" type leap forward for Brandon would not surprise me. The same signs are there -- moments that show the height of his ceiling, but frustrating inconsistency brought about in part by a lack of experience and conditioning.

I disagree. I think he has Willie Cauley-Stein defense capabilities. He just needs to rein in his emotions.Honestly, I don’t think he’s very good. He’s got a decent looking shot and he’s tall. That’s about it imo.
BG doesn't have near the length, timing or instincts WCS did when it comes to blocking shots.I disagree. I think he has Willie Cauley-Stein defense capabilities. He just needs to rein in his emotions.
Willie was the only 7-footer I've ever seen that could defend a point guard in open space.I disagree. I think he has Willie Cauley-Stein defense capabilities. He just needs to rein in his emotions.
I think that’s a bit of a stretch at best. WCS was a unicorn. Their games don’t match up at all to me.I disagree. I think he has Willie Cauley-Stein defense capabilities. He just needs to rein in his emotions.

Garrison is actually very good at this part of defense. Did an excellent job when he got switched onto Fears. What he sucks at is guarding in the post. Hoping for improvement there. He has the length and athleticism.Willie was the only 7-footer I've ever seen that could defend a point guard in open space.
This is my stance too. I think too many are selling him short based on some bad games this year and some emotional outbursts. I think Pope will work hard with him and we could see a much improved Garrison this year. That's what I'm hoping for anyway.I think he could be really good this upcoming season.
His defense definitely oozes potential!I disagree. I think he has Willie Cauley-Stein defense capabilities. He just needs to rein in his emotions.
There is reason we've only had one 7'1" guy who could guard every position on the floor....they don't grow on trees. As much as I wish he was I don't think he has the motor, foot speed and agility to be a WCS type defender.I disagree. I think he has Willie Cauley-Stein defense capabilities. He just needs to rein in his emotions.
Not even close. BG is not a shot blocker, only 1.0 per30min. Guys like WCS, Richards, etc... were all 2-3 times that.BG doesn't have near the length, timing or instincts WCS did when it comes to blocking shots.
He averaged 2 blocks per 30 minutes/game at OSU as a freshman. Not even close. BG is not a shot blocker, only 1.0 per30min. Guys like WCS, Richards, etc... were all 2-3 times that.
BG is also a bad rebounder which is partly defense (giving up offensive boards). His rebounding rate is more like that of a SF.
Heard a rumor that he played football in HS.Willie was the only 7-footer I've ever seen that could defend a point guard in open space.
Good interview and very interesting that his initial recruitment was a two year plan, kinda gives insight into how the coaches are thinking. Probably similar with the Williams, Lowe type recruitments as well.
Naah, he didn't play WR in HS. He's no WCSI disagree. I think he has Willie Cauley-Stein defense capabilities. He just needs to rein in his emotions.
He’s more of a Jamal magloire than wcs. Nick richards is a good comp. He had a much more productive Soph season than Nick. Harrison has a high ceiling imo. Let’s us not forget EJ Montgomery who certainly would have hit the portal. There wow somewhere between EJ and Jamal magloie that’s where I expect BG to be.I disagree. I think he has Willie Cauley-Stein defense capabilities. He just needs to rein in his emotions.
