Ok, so I've heard a lot of people say that Patterson of TCU turned down an offer from his alma mater, Kansas State. If that is true, I find it highly unlikely that he would be interested in M-State.

That said, many of you believe he is a legitimate possibility. So what's the truth? Did he or did he not turn down Kansas State?

They jumped straight back to Snyder. Took the easy way out and didn't offer the job to anyone. At least that's my guess. Why else do you hire Snyder if Patterson has supposedly been waiting for the job?

I wonder if Bill Snyder pulled a Polk on them and said "This is my program, I'm coming back" and the AD said OK. I think a lot of K-State fans wanted Snyder back, though.

...is that he was in negotiations with Kansas State when someone there leaked to the press that he was about to be named coach. This pissed of Patterson, as well as the administration at TCU, and Patterson withdrew his name at that point.

The AD and the Pres there are retiring so the Pres made the call to rehire Snyder as he was the one to originally hire him way back when. Looks like this is just a temporary hire as the new Pres and AD will want to come in and make their own choice later on.

Patterson may hang on for a chance later. who knows.
