Former TCU head coach… why did he never get another shot at a HC position? Scandal or choice?

Pretty sure that's choice. He was 60+ when he finished and had made plenty of money. The fact that he stayed at TCU makes him an outlier. Maybe he's also an outlier in that he can walk away at 60 and not feel the need to get back into it.

Think he’s probably a little over the hill. 64 now. Stepped out in the height of NIL and his replacement took them to the title game. Would be good if he wanted to do it but I doubt he’s got the fire.

I like the late 50s guys, MAYBE early 60s. Cignetti is rare to have that fire in the mid 60s. He’s a different breed. Plus he’s hungry for his P4 shot, doubt Patterson is.

What a novel idea? OC hired as head coach bringing in someone with head coaching experience to help them, that's crazy talk!
I think the odds are slim to none of a man who could get a head coaching job at any number of G5 schools and probably a handful of P4 schools taking a coordinator job at Mississippi State. We have plenty of problems in the administration, but don't act like that is something we should have and could have done...
