I couldn’t tell you anybody that I know of or heard getting a NoGa transfer. A few years back, I think a OL ended up at Ashbrook. But that’s the only one I recall. When that one coach was there, the one that left for another state, whose name escapes me…he had a couple awesome athletes. Think I saw one plays for ECU.If NG varsity football folds....it's a bigger indictment on the neighboring High Schools that are known recruiters and lure players away from a sport that has already had to endure the helicoptor mom and dads/involved uncles, concussions, county and state officials piling up more rules and covid trying to bury it.
People will act surprised and sympathetic to the situation.... but most are involved in it.
Who is next? Bessemer City, East Gaston? Which schools routinely take players from those schools? How about those recruiting schools just get your kids better at football and stop trying to outsource talent? If being the starting LB, DL or RB on a 4-8 team isn't good enough... maybe as one of the lead players relied upon it's you and not the rest of them that is the issue?
We are seeing increasing numbers of players trying to "gang up" on the same team. To make loaded teams and have not teams and do it around the supposed rules. Don't anybody act surprised when NG is the first and another team or two goes this direction in the coming years.
Let em fold…. Big Red Machine will keep rolling and they havent put up a fight in 2 decades. Who cares…. All well miss is an easy win.If NG varsity football folds....it's a bigger indictment on the neighboring High Schools that are known recruiters and lure players away from a sport that has already had to endure the helicoptor mom and dads/involved uncles, concussions, county and state officials piling up more rules and covid trying to bury it.

I asked the same question the other day. Is it better to play a terrible and get a win or play no team. I did not get an answer.Wonder how that affects RPI
Probably play no teamI asked the same question the other day. Is it better to play a terrible and get a win or play no team. I did not get an answer.
Did this post just figure out…..its better to have a bye than play the majority of Gaston County teams. LMAO. Thank God for Belmont!Probably play no team
Over the last 30 years I have heard of many. Mostly Ashbrook over the years, followed by HH and some to KM.I couldn’t tell you anybody that I know of or heard getting a NoGa transfer. A few years back, I think a OL ended up at Ashbrook. But that’s the only one I recall. Bravo, that was awesome. I did do a little research and saw where the mighty SP/Belmont has played Shelby 49 times over the years with a 13-36 record against the mighty Golden Lions. Cramer has played Shelby once, last year and has 0-1 record against them. Looking to have a better winning % against the Golden Lions after Friday than the Big Red does, or Tony Montoya, whichever you prefer. Here is the scenario: We have Stewart P. Cramer playing the Shelby Golden Lions.
It is hard to make a determination on the outcome of this game due to the historical insignificance. Since the St. Cramer boys can only demonstrate their interpretation of the game outcome through abstract dance... and this is a digital medium, that is just no good. I will examine the game as best I can.
You've all seen it, so play along.
Its the Scarface scene where Tony Montana sees sweet Gina in a sparkly rainbow-colored dress being manhandled by some greaseball playboy named Fernando. Tony is none too happy. After a few spins on the dance floor of the discotheque the young couple adjourns to what Tony unlovingly calls "the toilet". Montana sees RED and makes a beeline for can. There he busts into a crapper and finds the young maiden Gina with the greaseball's PAWS all over her. Quickly Tony springs into action and smacks Fernando around. He soon addresses Gina's disrespect. He lays the law down and everybody within 30 foot of that nose candy toilet knows who the boss is.
I think it's fairly obvious that art parallels real life here. SC is Gina, and she gets smacked around. Shelby is Fernando....maybe he got a couple cheap gropes on Gina but soon he is made to scurry out of the club and get into his 1974 Buick Riveria with one missing hubcap and 1/8th a tank of gas. Tony Montana? You guessed it. Tony Montana is represented in this sequence by the SP Red Raiders. Just going into ya-yo fueled, dimly lit surroundings and smacking around those who don't know their place. EL JEFE MF!!!!
WHO STARTED THIS THING MAYNE!!! ME - THAT'S WHO!

It should be noted Shelby ran and hid just like SC and EG did when all 3 of yall went to “lower” class play. Great timing for Shelby.Bravo, that was awesome. You have common opponents with Crest and KM. See if you guys can go 1-1 against them. I am really wondering why you are posting about our game as I have counted no less than 30 times when you said no one in Belmont even thinks or cares about Cramer. I do appreciate you building up the hype of the game. Should be a phenomenal atmosphere. I plan to attend. You have common opponents with Crest and KM. See if you guys can go 1-1 against them. That’s fair, and I hope one day GC can have someone step up on a regular basis other than SP. Got back to back weeks for Cramer.I plan to attend.
Shelby didn’t want no more. A very mediocre sp team last beat them. Every so team since then was markedly better than that last team that beat Shelby.
I talk about the game because amidst the recruiting nature of HS football there seems to be just one good game per week. Hopefully this is the “good” one. Also…because it’s the proper venue (Gaston county). You should be proud you are contributing to a better thread than the CC one. Apparently Shelby is scared because they are in full hibernation mode. Stained drawers and all.
Quick question...did you know that administration numbers used, also determines funding to the school. If they fudge just 20 students, that equals a little over 260k in funding lost.. think they doing that?Is S. Cramer ready to take on little old 3a Shelby (that’s a shot at Shelby and their discreet, dirty dealings keeping them 3a).
Back in the late 80s they had over 1,000 students and less than 15,000 people in the city population. Now they have over 20,000 population and just over 700 students. The 1980s numbers correlate to normal 5-7% of a towns population being made up of HS students. Shelby has managed to whittle that number down to 3.5%. shenanigans.
I, like most North Carolinians, do know that.Quick question...did you know that administration numbers used, also determines funding to the school. If they fudge just 20 students, that equals a little over 260k in funding lost.. think they doing that?
Intelligence isn't running rampant over in Cleveland Co.....Quick question...did you know that administration numbers used, also determines funding to the school. If they fudge just 20 students, that equals a little over 260k in funding lost.. think they doing that?
Meaning?Intelligence isn't running rampant over in Cleveland Co.....
Or 5 new teachers salaries.I, like most North Carolinians, do know that.
260k in funding….lol. What would that buy in the public educational world…. 6 pencils and book?
What does that mean? In the context of what he said. Or were you just being an imbecile for the sake of being one?Intelligence isn't running rampant over in Cleveland Co.....

The problem is more of the way the school lines never changed much from when there was 3 school systems in the county. The areas that had housing growth were still outside of the Shelby city limits and going to original Cleveland County school system feeder schools verses orginal Shelby School sysytem schools. Until recently, they are starting to build more in the town. Old money controlled land in Shelby and and thats why there was no real growth the same as Hickory had in the same time period, but the controllers are dieing off.The comment was made "If they fudge just 20 students, that equals a little over 260k in funding lost.. think they doing that?"
An intelligent person wouldn't make that decision. But Shelby's population has steadily grown and enrollment dropped. So maybe someone isn't intelligent enough to recognize they are losing funding as someone suggested.
Rampant is an adjective that means something is spreading widely, growing out of control, or acting without restraint.
