The Los Angeles Firefighters Union is suing Gavin Newsom for $400 million for "dereliction of duty during a crisis."
The suit claims that the LAFD repeatedly requested that the water be turned on during the fires earlier this year, but the governor refused.
It also states that the department's trucks were forbidden from siphoning water from the ocean to battle coastal blazes because of the damage it might do to marine wildlife.
"He failed the City of Los Angeles and the State of California."

Gavin Newsom is going to look into the missing $100 million from FireAid, right after he finds the $100 billion from the High Speed Rail, the $37 billion from homelessness, the $40 billion for affordable housing, the $5 billion for water storage, and the $500 million to stop the flow of raw sewage from Mexico

More brilliance from JD "Couch Potato" Vance. Republicans do not constitute anywhere near 40% of the electorate in California. A quick Google search illustrates that fact:

As of October 21, 2024, the final voter registration numbers for the November 5, 2024, California General Election showed that registered Republicans constituted 24.7% of all registered voters. The total number of registered voters was 22,595,659.

Note that this information represents the percentage of registered voters who are Republicans, not the percentage of votes cast by Republicans. Official results specifying the breakdown of votes cast by party affiliation are typically not released.

"Typically not released?!" I thought JD Vance said that "Republicans routinely win 40% of the vote" in California. 🐘🤔
