Foul trouble (4), then we started grooving without him. Rick Ray is going to be hell with a little more talent.

Last year, we were one of the least fundamentally sound teams I'd ever seen. I was extremely concerned about our future, but withheld judging too harshly because we were also putting mostly true freshmen and walk-ons on the court. This year, we didn't start too brightly in that regard, but have improved tremendously over the course of the season. I'm beginning to have more and more confidence that Ray knows what he's doing if he can ever get some talent on the team.

The box score only indicated 3 fouls. I started to get a little concerned when he was out because Auburn started to get alot of uncontested buckets in the paint. Just wanted to make sure he wasn't hurt.

The improvement from year 1 to year 2 under Ray is what I'm excited about. Guys like Bloodman & Johnson have made tremedous improvements in my opinion.

Johnson is averaging almost 8 reb & 17 pts per 40 minutes compared to 7 reb & 13.5 pts per 40 minutes last year, and his turnovers / minutes played has gone down almost 30%.

Bloodman made more turnovers than assists last year. These last three games where he's been the main PG he's got 13 assists to 9 turnovers. His fg% has also risen from about 35% last year to over 50% this year.

Five of the main six returning players are scoring more points per 40 minutes played. Fred Thomas is the only one that is down --- and that makes sense because I think Ray wants him to shoot less since he's pretty bad from the field.

I am very encouraged by the improvement in turnover ratio. If you look at the

great programs almost all of them excel in this area.

This guy came to america with $50 in his pocket and now owns the Sacramento

Kings. He is a brilliant mathematician and when he was elected to coach his daughters rec league team he applied his math skills to the problem as he knew nothing about basketball. He discovered that turnovers were the difference in winning and losing. He therefore devised a full court pressing style of defense for his daugther's team and a ball control offense, they went undefeated.

Gavin is going to be a good one if we can ever put him next to a true center. He holds his own already, but he can be great at the 4 with help.

It was in Gladwell's last book.By pressing all the time it drove the other team to tears ,it was a good read.

He is profiled on Real Sports this month on HBO. As usual, they did a solid job with it.

Supposedly ndoye is much better than previously thought. Maybe he's the guy you're looking for

Whenever I see

Gavin I wonder how awesome it'd be if he were on some of our teams w great centers.

I've heard similar stuff. With a physical forward like Ware you can have a more lanky guy like Nyode who just puts things back, blocks, and gets rebounds. I said it when we signed him following a lackluster offensive senior campaign... He'll never play O and that's entirely fine. He can contribute Chandler/Hibbert/Jordan style.
