Much improved. Still feel like he's gonna throw a bunch of picks this year though. He got away with two "for sure" picks today and another 1-2 that easily could have been.

He needs to step into his throws. He floats the ball way too much. Has great pocket presence and good legs for extending a play. he’s got a ton of potential.

Agreed.

Agreed. Nothing wrong with constructive criticism and looking for improvement. I listen to the radio broadcast during the game, and Mike Teel does a great job on providing a QB perspective.

When he demonstrates good mechanics, he throws accurately. His strike to Ian Strong for a TD was an amazing throw. But he also inexplicably missed easier throws and receivers coming open.

He might throw a bunch of ints vs Michigan, OSU, and PSU, but should be fine against everyone else. He will get better as the season draws along. For a 1st game performance, it was fine.

And yes Michigan and Penn State will dominate our OL.
OLine needs to really improve run blocking the next few weeks for sure but I thought pass blocking was very good yesterday. Gavin moves around in the pocket extremely well. Was surprised he didn't tuck and run more yesterday.

By that metric, Bryant had at least a couple more that should have been picked off.

I don't post anymore but I still follow and watch most games and I'm excited about the progress he could make this year. That TD pass was phenomenal and several other passes were very good. We haven't had that kind of ability in a long time. He's still inconsistent with accuracy though. The missed slant could've easily been a pick 6 and the elite teams will probably make him look bad this year. With that said, if he keeps progressing then he could finally get us over the hump next year.
