that my guru status was going to take another hit. I had been telling people that he was going to commit this week, and he just barely did.

Oh, and this is typical:

Batting average per Gene- .429

Batting average per BDJ- .380

That's only a 49 point difference.

It says .403 on Maxpreps.com where their high school coaches input the stats so maybe they are both wrong. Either way i'm glad he committed. He is a good pickup. He favored Southern Miss at the beginning because that is where his family went to school so I'm glad we got him.

glad Dowdy helped him see the light. He told me this kid can swing it and hoped we would go after him hard

in Meridian. His team played three games, and he hit two home runs.

I will say if nothing else, he is projectable at 6'3" 215 or whatever he is. A guy that size with some power is definately a draft prospect.
