I am looking at this objectively. Kudos and Thank You's were well deserved in 1997. He MIGHT could have warranted it last year. But Polk has destroyed our program since he returned in 2001 or 2002, whenever it was. Can't these people, even the sheep, see that he doesn't deserve thanks this time around?

They stayed loyal to Jackie to the bitter end too, I guess, and even long after.

Why is this so hard of a concept to grasp?

I might be able to have a little fun with that.

Stay alert for me bragging about being banned.

1997 would have been a hell of a time for a "Thank you Ron Polk" forum. Today, I think a "<17> you Ron Polk" forum would be more appropriate.

In my opinion, Polk should be criticized mercilessly. The sheep make up such a small percentage of our fanbase so it doesn't matter anyway. And half of them are anti-Polk. Even Florida Dawg makes fun of the sheep now.

MSU made the CWS as recently last year

Even a firing letter usually says "While we would like to thank you for your services............................"

The man is leaving - one last thank you won't hurt anybody

Swan Lake has gotten pretty interesting with half the members realizing Polk is off his rocker and questioning him and the other half, led by the one and only KB21, claiming he is a baseball God and should be viewed as such

....practices since his return, basically implying that Polk has brought down the program. So why in the hell should be thanking his ***? Like everyonee else said, we thanked him in 1997. He "retired," named his successor, and hung around the ball park smoking cigars for a couple of years before taking a job at another SEC school. When we hired him back, the first thing I told everyone was that it was a horrible mistake. The responses were typical. Everyone(sheep) was sure he'd do great because they believed he'd renewed his fire at UGA. I knew better. I knew he'd do what he was doing before his retirement, that he'd go back to using MSU as his NCAA soapbox. He destroyed what he built, and we allowed him to do it...........just like we did with JWS in football. THANKS LT!

As a person.....and one that ate breakfast with him and several others each week, I liked Ron Polk. As I said below, I'm really concerned about him because some of the statements he's making now doesn't make sense. I hope he's ok......seriously.

Again, I like him a lot as a person, but I've never felt he was that great of a coach. MSU stressed baseball long before most. Yea, Polk really helped to make SEC baseball special. But the fact remains, he still didn't accomplish much compared to Bertman.

Either way, I'm grateful for Polk.....because SEC would still be an after thought if not for him, Bertman and maybe a couple others.

for a little too long. Even remember arguing with a once prominent SixPacker. That taught me a lesson. Just because you used to be a good coach, don't mean you still are one. I ain't been happy with Polk since he's been back.

agrees with the fans, you know it's time to go.

I guess one good thing about Polk resigning is we don't have to read the obligatory "MSU would be crazy to fire Ron Polk because of what he has done for them" article.

Had a nice one deleted this morning...did a little rant saying he needed to be fired now, and that he would continue to show his *** & thumb his nose at everyone til the seaon's over.

Also had a catchy phrase.....RP's resignation may take effect next month, but he quit a loooong time ago.

is it coaching or pitching losing the games

plus lack of aggressiveness at the plate and on the bases, average defense, injuries (sorry, it is a factor), some off the field distractions, mean USM fans, and poor fundamentals

A) Dont pitchers have to be coached?
B) We are averaging double digit runners left on base in our last 7 seven games or so. The hitters arent doing their job, and the coach isnt doing his to make something happen to get the runs home
