First this post is not a solicitation to buy or sale tickets, simply to discuss the market of buying/selling tickets to State games.
I have a few extra family members coming in for the game which has led me to be on the "look out" for tickets the last 10 days or so. Through the process I've come to the realization demand must be higher than ever. Even with a marginal addition of seats, it appears that demand is outgrowing supply which has led to the increase of secondary market ticket costs substantially(I'm speaking in terms of the USM game only).
I've never had to consider $80+ for a upper level seat, and never have I ever even thought about $100+ for a lower level seat. But from what I've seen around via message boards, the web, Stubhub(which is a joke right now..check it out), and word of mouth it appears they are going for that easily.
Would you expect these same demands to be proposed by scalpers in and around campus Saturday? Never thought I'd see something like this at MSU, but I guess that comes at a cost for winning. Do you see these same types of issues going forward for other home games this year? Specifically the conference games? Are we now ascending to the level of difficulty of finding a reasonable ticket at places such Tiger Stadium, Bryant Denney, etc.? it's interesting to think about.
