Not even close. First 7 seasons - Stansbury had been to 3 NCAA Tournaments, 1 SEC Reg Season championship and 1 SEC Tourney Championship.

Even if Kennedy did win on Sunday - his resume doesn't even come close to Stansbury's first 7 years.

No, it wouldnt have matched up for the first 7. But he would have accomplished something that Stansbury couldnt do in 14 years.

Those 2 guys pretty much cancel each other out. Kennedy is a slightly better floor coach, Stansbury being a little better recruiter. Kennedy just needs some school to have a scandal of the century this April so that their all-conference post player can transfer to Oxford and play immediately.

Stansbury's first 7 years wipe the floor with Kennedy's first 7.

Rick just lost control at the end. Wasn't just a Sidney problem, although The Fight killed our program from a PR perspective.

Kodi, Ravern, and Dee were just as bad or even worse as far as attitudes go.

Control is not the right word. Motivate seems better. Sidney was just fat and lazy. What a waste.

In the first 7 years, 0 MSU fans wanted Stansbury to be fired. In Kennedy's first 7 years he's had to defend himself and his job every single off season.

When UAB came calling it was a unanimous "leave" from the fanbase.

I'm not saying MSU never did that to Stans, but it took longer than 7.

I agree. Stans is better on the trail, Kennedy probably better on the court. I would also point out that the tournament really opened up for Kennedy to make a deep run this year, and they couldn't get it done. This year's OM team had more than enough talent on it to be playing in the Elite 8 next week. Don't think they would get by Ohio State though.

I know OM fans are just happy they got this far, but they got a 'once-in-a-lifetime' draw. I hope they remember that next time when they're an 8 or 9 seed bubble team.

Not saying I disagree, but even Stans would have called a timeout with 2.5 seconds left. I still can't figure out what AK was thinking there.

Yet another example of why threaded view is superior and topic view is garbage.

feel free to link

Spending time talking about what he couldnt do or wouldnt do as HC was not calling for him to be fired. I stated many times that we couldnt fire him based on what he had done to that point. I called for him to be fired in 2009 and then called for his immediate dismissal after the Rider game. A college coach telling the country he hadnt practiced his zone offense before the 1st game should be immediately fired at any school.

Don't think the ezboard posts from 2004 would be readily available.

Well AK definitely controlled the punk a$$ as for as production and output goes much better than Stans controlled or motivated Sidney to do anything.

No way- no objective person could argue that he was. Their resumes aren't even close. Ole Miss is one of the only programs in the country ****** enough to keep him for 7 years.
In fact, I think this will be the beginning of the end of Kennedy. Now they have tasted a little bit of success. Two more seasons of NIT or worse and AK will be job hunting.

Yet, at least ...

nahhhh- Kennedy has yet to do anything The Recruiter didnt

Stans never 'showed' his drunk *** in public like AK did in Cincinnati in the "International Incident." I mean ... police video cam coverage gone viral, smacking a cabbie, paying off said cabbie and still insisting that he got an 'apology' ... it's no wonder that the rebel nation 'embrasses' Marshall Henderson.

For the 'winningest' coach in OM BB history, AK had a six year run of underachieving teams and classic 'end of year slides.' I thought that the loss to State would mark the end of Ak's time in Oxford. But, he did a good coaching job in the SECT. Now that he has been to the dance, next year will be fun to watch ... especially if Marshal returns.
