What name does it go by and where is it? It's been a long time since I've been there. I may need to make some time to get back over there.
Actually, the birthplace is not there but the cabin was re-created and placed there. More like boyhood home but I can stand to be corrected.
The structure contains a replica of the cabin where Lincoln was born. That's how I understood it.
Rex Martin (can't remember his wife's name) He was a big time real estate player IIRC in the 50's 60's and made bank during the IBM influx. Probably had a hand in all the neighborhoods in SW Lexington (including yours/mine Gardenside, Stonewall, etc.
I remember when the castle caught fire, I was on my way home from work in Versailles and cars were lined up and down the shoulders of the highway.

The cabin is a re-creation but they know from the deed for Thomas Lincoln, the unique sinking spring in Hodgenville and the White Oak boundary that is Thomas Lincoln's farm where Abraham was born and where he said he was told he was born. The re-created cabin is not necessarily the X marking the spot of where the actual cabin was but somewhere probably within a 150 yards of it
The boyhood home is 8 miles away between Hodgenville and New Haven on Knob Creek that he lived at from age 3 to 7 and what he says his earliest memories are. It has a very large log structure that is not from his time but was built in the 1800s that is home of that park. It was a tavern pre-Prohibition

What would make anyone consider climbing up on that bridge and walking across it just baffles me.
Here's another. What dam is this? Also, what river does this dam hold back and what lake was formed by it? I had a lot of fun there as a kid. Not the dam but the lake.
