With the exception of last year's losing season, they put together an impressive streak for a program that hasn't been super awesome.

I think their record was like 7-11 in bowls during that time with two BCS bowl game appearances.

Didn't realize this until I looked it up.

I remember watching them spank a Dak Prescott Mississippi State team in the orange bowl a couple years ago.

They dominated that one. I'll tell you one that I did not remember despite it being recent, was their 2009 Orange Bowl vs Iowa. No clue. [laughing]

A lot may not realize or remember Georgia Tech also won a national title in 1990. Actually they were "co champions" with CU that year. One finished 1st in one poll, the other finished 1st in the other poll.

2-5 in bowl games since Paul Johnson brought the triple option.

This.

As I posted in another thread in response to people worried about having to prepare for a 'gimmick' offense, it's true the contrarian approach works well when you go against teams with only one week to prepare for you. But it's NOT been as effective in bowls vs. teams with multiple weeks to prepare. (Look at points-scored, not just wins/losses)
