Games are being called MUCH tighter this year. So far 5 teams have attempted 50 free throws in a game, only 11 did all of last year.

Seaton Hall and Niagra game combined for 102 free throw attempts on Saturday.

Piss me off? Hardly. Calling more fouls could be awesome.

The NBA has a few things right that college ball fails at.

1- consistency in refs from league to league.
2- a large arc in the paint for charge/block fouls


3- the NBA isn't a beat the shot out of you league anymore. It has opened up the game. Hopefully it'll happen in the college game too. Players and coaches will have to adapt and actually either defend, get called for the foul, or allow the basket.

Agree. We need a national pool of refs in the NCAA, so everyone plays with the same rules. And they need to start calling fouls. Most college basketball games are just painful to watch. The average NCAA basketball team only makes 22 field goals per game. 15 years ago, the average was 25 per game. That's over a 10% decrease and a lot of the reason is that defenses are allowed to practically mug offensive players.

I like it. The teams need to play defense that doesn't involve manhandling the opponent constantly. The game has deteriorated.

Could they please start calling travelling and carrying the ball more consistently too?
