I just wonder why alot that I read on their boards, blogs, etc. talk like Newton is really going to have to compete for the starting job. No way he goes there without a guarantee it is his spot to lose. If he miraculously didn't end up starting, it would be the funniest thing I could imagine, but surely there is no remote chance of that being the case, barring an injury.

Even better, they move him to Tight End or H-back.

I mean what a dominating performance from the mighty War Eagles!! Here's to hoping that Cam plays the way he did in the last offensive drive during the Juco Nat'l Title game. My excitement about him donning the maroon and white died an awful death when I watched him throw a horrible pick, take a sack with little time left in the game, and decide to run for a first down & come up 2 yards short during their most critical time of the game. I realized right then that he is an exceptional athlete with very little savvy when the chips are all on the table. I am hoping (and counting on) Tyler Russell having more between his ears than CN has.
