I thought that was a calculated risk by Ole Miss. It's hard to get upset at a guy when he gets thrown out by a guy who makes a throw like that after running down the ball like that. That guy is safe probably 8 out of 10 times.

Here is where You and I disagree on baserunning Todd.
I don't think it was calculated at all , but rather a spur of the momentattempt to take third when the risk wasn't worth the reward.
I don't think that guy is safe 8 of 10 times , I think it was more like 50-50 and the runner got burned for making a poor decision.
As a base runner , You have to think before the ball is even put into play , much like a defensive player knowing where he is going to throw the ball before it is even hit.
The runner in that spot should know that with 2 outs He isn't going to take third unless there is NO WAY he is going to be thrown out. This is what he should be thinkingBEFORE the ball is in play.
Making an unforced out at third to end an inning is simply pissing away a scoring chance. It can easily be avoided by knowing what to do before the ball is ever hit. If a guy gets shot in that situation , then He failed before the ball was ever hit.
Ending an inning by making an unforced out at third base IS and always has been a baserunning error and is 100% avoidable by knowing what You are going to do before the ball is ever put in play. No excuses.
