Why the hell were all the State fans chanting "SEC... SEC... SEC"? I found this really annoying, since it seemed there were more people chanting "SEC", than there were loudly cheering from MSU. Did these people come all that way to watch an SEC game, or an MSU game?

I typically pull for SEC myself, but this was a bit extreme to me, when we could have been chanting "MSU... MSU... MSU".

What say you Six Pack Speak?

Bulldogs, Go State and all the other MSU cheers. The SEC chanting, that I heard, was when the game was almost over and it was rubbing it into the Big 10. Just an icing on the cake sort of thing. I enjoyed it.

I understand the logic behind somebody saying we should never chant "SEC, SEC, SEC". That's fine. I didn't participate in the chant in Jacksonville. But it's not like we are boycotting or protesting against the SEC either.

It's just a jab at the Big 10 people...nothing to get worked up about...

Everybody in the stadium knew the SEC was in the middle of a Big 10 beat-down. It was low hanging fruit to piss off Michigan fans even further.

I don't understand how anyone can interpret that as "embarrassing".

It annoys the hell out of them and its done more to piss them off than to toot our own horn.

I was not interested in pissing Michigan fans off anymore. We just beat the ever living **** out of them. The only real next step is to fight.

All I cared about was letting my Bulldogs know was how much support I have for them by chanting their name as loud I could.

Timing and position is important. Yes, we have our problems with the league, etc.
But:
If we weren't in the SEC, we might be in the crapper.
So I have no problems saying Go SEC!

Sure MSU is better off in the SEC than anywhere else. That's not the point.

The point is the last couple years, the SEC has gone way too far to screw State, to keep us in our place. I'm sick of it. And I'm quite pissed about it. I don't automatically pull for and cheer "SEC" anymore.

I know its in our best interest for the SEC to win. But I can't cheer for the organization that stabs us in the back and tries at every opportunity to prevent us from reaching the next level.

At least in our endzone section, it started after we scored to make it 24-14. At the time, Florida was still losing, so its not like the conference was dominating as a whole at the time. I thought the timing was poor. If auburn wins, the sec finishes .500 in bowls-not exactly that impressive. I know we have the best conf. top to bottom; it just seems like we could focus more on msu than everyone else in the sec.

but to be honest... it doesn't even really bother me any more. That's just something that's in the people who follows the teams in the conference. I'm with you on that I'm not a conferenceelitist, but I still take pride in the conference. Despite us not receiving help from those that should have given it, it doesn't make me want to disown the conference altogether. Regardless of what has happened... I still wouldn't want to be a part of any other conference.

<div id="refHTML"></div>Completely agree, 100%. Most State fans don't get it.
but after the Michigan Scout site had that thread after the SEC started 0-3, then it was goodday for the SEC and a New Year's Day masacre for the Big 10.

I found it embarrassing because "0 and 3" was reality at that point and we were only up three points and then quickly another seven but had 1/2 left to play. I'm with Flab.....screw that and Go State until those 17ers show us they consider us something other than a place to shift scholly losses when one of the big boys mess up. Between cowbells and blaming us for Cecil asking for money, piss on 'em.
