Not sure if you are trying too hard but usually going to coach in the NFL is considered a promotion; especially if you are coaching the same position or better.

This is the important part of this. If I was in McGriff's shoes (or Frank Haith or any other ex-Miami coach wrapped up in this), I'd be looking for greener pastures too.

I have no idea who McGriff is. I'm guessing from this thread he's a Bears assistant coach (defensive line?). But it wouldn't matter to an NFL team if he was caught red-handed paying players at Miami. The Bears lost an assistant coach to the NFL. It happens. That's all I read into it.

Ranked as one of the top recruiters in NCAA. I wouldn't be surprised if this was coming for a couple weeks now but was swept under the rug until after signing day.

Make no mistake, some recruits are pissed. Especially when Kiffin leaves next year.

If commits leave they'll be replaced with higher ranked recruits and all will be good. just like jan/feb this year.

Yes he did but it was to accept a a job as a position coach. I consider it a promotion if you are moving to the NFL at an equal or greater position, not to go from head coach to position coach.
