Getting the jitters for the UK game....

So I'm hoping I can fire the grill up tomorrow night peacefully. I say we pull this game out, but I gotta bad feeling it won't be enjoyable until sometime until late 3rd or 4th. I felt better until I watched the Cats play better vs USC . However, this SHOULD be the kind of game we take control of quickly. We win but not as easily as I'd like. Thoughts???

You're not the only one. We've been slow offensively coming out of the gate. I have a bad feeling we'll goof around and allow them to stay in the game. Joker will probably get desperate and put Towles in the game. He'll probably throw for 250+ yards against us. We are notorious for making true freshman look like Heisman trophy winners. The only thing that makes me feel good about the game is that it's an early game, they'll be a small crowd, and hopefully UK burned up all they're emotion last week against SC. I'm still not convinced we can play with enthusiasm against mediocre/bad teams. I'm betting we come out flat just like we have the last 2 games.

I agree, but there is no doubt in my mind that we are by far the more talented team, and any adrenaline they have should wear off after a quarter or so and we should take over. I think Troy may be more talented than UK, and we held on there, so I feel pretty good about tomorrow. I think we cover the 10.5 or whatever it is.

I'm not worried about this game. We should win easily. If we struggle or lose, we have much bigger problems and worries on our horizon.

We will know a lot more about our football team around 3 pm tomorrow and what outlook to have for the remainder of the season.

I agree. UK won't be able to score enough to win tomorrow. 21 points win it for us. I look for Russel to play well. They loaded up the box last year, I think they'll want TR to beat them throw the air.

I hear ya. My wool is not all that thick right now. I'd love nothing more than our defense to shut this down pretty quick. Hope I'm wrong on it being close till late. I think we should handle business however.

Folks here in Lexington don't even know a game is happening. Our waiter last night asked us why we were in town from Mississippi. When i was checking into the hotel another guest asked why the hotels were so booked. The desk clerk rattled off keeneland, Susan g koman 5k, and 2 or 3 other things - then "I think theres a football game too"

I was much more nervous about Troy...

We have several things going in our favor

1. The KY crowd should be subdued and USM-like in attendance

2. We have more talent than we have had in the last decade

3. They arguably have less talent than at any point in the last decade

4. Mullen's record when he is favored is excellent

5. They are a basketball school

6. They are coached by Joker Phillips

Games that I think are going to be uglier than the spread indicates. Both are road teams but I don't care, State will roll, BIG. Big numbers for Perkins, and our DB's. I think Malcolm might drop a pass or two but ends up in the end zone as well as Bumphis. LSU is going to roll, pick six by Driskel gets it started. He is going to be as uncomfortable as Kory Keys at a logic convention, he will be swarmed all day. Mettenberger will be meh, but field position will get the tigers up by 20 deep in the 3rd.

How's the weather in Lex this morning?

A bit south of Lex in north Alabama we're getting rain at the moment and around 50, but it looks like most of the rain has moved through Lexington. Hopefully that's the case. Easier to play (and watch from the stands) in coolish temps than coolish + rain.

I guess they never cared much about FB anyway, and with such a bad team that makes it even worse. But when an SEC game is in town you'd think they would at least be aware even if they didn't care about it.
