He got injured last year and, in the interim, they fired the coach that was giving him playing time. In sports, it is all about opportunity, and the new coach is going with some new guys that were drafted after GG. GG would probably be better off if they traded him or just waived him so he can find a chance with a new team.

Probably the right move for him because, if you are on the end of an NBA Bench, you are just sitting there night after night. Getting paid, but not getting better. NBA teams rarely have time to practice. Mainly shoot-arounds and games.
