Someone decided it was a good idea to pick me as a Godfather for their boy. Apparently I need to get a gift and alcohol for a baby is frowned upon. Someone told me to get some vintage coins, but I'm thinking something of more use and value.

Goggles and a towel. Maybe give him a little talk about not letting a religion keep him dumbed down his entire life and to explore things that his religion already has a supposed answer to.

I've never heard of this gift giving because you are named a god parent. If the kid is an infant, he won't know or won't care. Sounds like some kinda bs made up by his milleineal parents. Get little Jaxon some cigs like silly suggested.

Sex bot a little out of the ol' price range. Maybe a fleshlight?

Good stuff so far. I'm actually thinking a high-end bottle of liquor to not be opened until his 21st birthday. So back around to alcohol! Obviously liquor doesn't really age in a glass bottle, but is there anything worth buying now, to be opened in 20 years from now?

Why wait till 21 to drink some alcohol, do like I do and go to a Bunny Ranch out in Vegas when he turns 18. By gift certificate now for him and save some $$$$

You show up to the baptism dressed as the Godfather. When people ask why you are the Godfather, just say you made his parents an offer they couldn't refuse.

why do you give a gift? You should be getting a gift (or gifts) for becoming a new father. You should have a godson shower and invite everyone at the baptism. If you get any useless crap with no receipts then you regift to him on his first birthday.

Ha, good stuff.

I think I'm gonna do a savings bond (to keep the parents happy) and a bottle of liquor to be opened on the 21st Birthday, hopefully with me there to enjoy it. Bourbon, Scotch, or Whiskey? I know wine ages best, but I really don't know much about wine. Any whiskeys that would be good to be opened after 20 years?

This is incorrect.

Buy him a Ouija board. Will open an avenue of dialogue and reduce your godfather duties greatly in the future.

Yeah, same here. As for the gift, people get gifts or getting baptized? This is new to me, but I'm assuming this is the sham baby type baptism, not a spur of the moment one that people do, when they are actually like inspired by hearing God's work and God speak to them (if you are into that church thing).
