My 2 cents is that Glenvar has to pass well to win. Giles has to complete some 10-15 yard passes to win. We'll all know how it works out around 9 pm Friday night, maybe a litter earlier or a little later.
I agree. If Giles can get the short to intermediate pass now and again that will keep their drives alive and they will score more and have a good chance to win the game, otherwise Glenvar will shut their wing down for business just like in the past 2 games. IMO Giles strategy will be to make Glenvar run the ball to win., They are very afraid of the long ball and they probably think our running game is the weakest part of the offense. I think that is misguided based on a previous post.
I am just another armchair Offensive Coordinator but I would go to the spread and see how Giles responds defensively. If our two best receivers draw double teams I would definitely run the ball right down Giles defensive throat right behind a great Oline. 7on5 or 9on7 is great odds getting 4-6 yards a pop. Control the ball right down the field just like Giles does. If we don't draw double teams somebody is going to be wide open down the field. Giles can't cover our best one on one plus 2 other good receivers on the same play IMO. I would play that game all night long. Glenvar did not have this option the first time because #7 was out.
Giles has to change/add wrinkles to their offense to win IMO and and that is an advantage to them because Glenvar will not be able to prepare for something they have not seen. It is also hard to beat a good team like Giles 3 times in a row. This is a championship feel game. I hope for a great hard fought game, great refs, great field conditions, great weather, and great sportsmanship/respect on both sides.
