Girodo - biggest career turnaround ever?

Now that the ink is dry on his pro contract, is it safe to say that Girodo had the most dramatic career turnaround of any State player in any sport (or at least the big three) ever? I'm talking freshman year to end of college eligibility.

Prior to this year, when Chad came in you knew either 1) the game was already lost OR 2) it was about to be a loss. This year was completely different and his postseason performance was pure domination.

All this got me thinking, is there anyone else that had this sort of improvement over his Mississippi State career from beginning to end? Chris Relf comes to mind who came a long way from being a "project" to leading the team in 2010. Even with that said, Chris was maybe as bad in the beginning, but was never as dominant as Girodo in the end, nor did he come close to getting drafted. Renfroe is another, but his deal was more about putting it all together and letting the game come to him.

Who are some other State players in any sport that made drastic improvement over their career? Any as much as Girodo?

He would be on up there. Even the improvement from his Jr year to Sr year was huge.

Stratton made a pretty big jump from having a career 5.25 ERA to becoming SEC pitcher of the the year. He always showed flashes of promise. Still a big jump nonetheless.

two years ago, putting girodo in meant cohen was about to give up the lead or the game was about to get blow wide open. this year, it meant we were about to shut them down with something filthy. absolutely night and day. really impressed with his stuff after his arm slot got moved and whether it be butch or cohen that made that call, it gave chad a chance at a long term career in baseball. a true diamond in the rough. it goes without saying that we wouldnt be where we ended up this year without him. wish the best for him and all bulldogs, but really happy for him considering the circumstances.
