I don't care which one, but one of these guys needs to be our quarterback for this class. Both have the potential to be special. It's long overdue for Mullen to land a game changer at qb. Either guy would fit our offense perfectly.

I don't think he is in the equation at the moment. Cord Sandberg or Devante Kincade would top my list. Jennings would be a very good one as well.

Kid is still under the radar a bit.... I watched his Soph. video (not impressed), then I watched his jr. video and I was blown away. I couldn't believe it was the same player. He made tremendous strides in a year. Dobbs also turned some heads at the Dallas combine in March. Not to mention the kid is an outstanding baseball player and is extremely intelligent. I think he has been offered by Duke and Princeton. Watch his jr. highlights on hudl. I'd be thrilled if we offered him.

I agree. But we have legit shots at both of these guys, and D. Kincade from TX (won the Dallas ELITE 11 event) is also said to be interested, along with Cord Sandberg from FL, also are in on another under the radar guy in Max Staver from TN (who placed top 10 at the ATL ELITE 11 event). <div>
</div><div>We just have to show them we are going to throw the ball around. In my opinion, it's the reason we have struggled to get a "game changer" at QB. Most big time QBs want to get to the next level, and they aren't going to get to the next level running QB draws, and read option plays 75% of the time.</div>

We recently offered Dobbs (who is blowing up btw), and Jennings just got a Nebraska offer. We need to sign one of these guys. Full court press on Dobbs IMO. If this team is ever going to take that next step, we need a difference maker at qb. Im sorry, but Kincaid is not the answer.

I was looking at our prospects, and noticed that when it comes to O-line we are targeting no 5 star linemen and only three 4 star linemen. Why would we not be putting the full court press on every big time OL recruit in the Southeast? At least having them as prospects? Or am I just missing something and most lineman are rated 3 star or lower?

I know stars aren't everything, and some guys may be 4 or 5 stars when signing day comes around that aren't right now....I just find it odd that we don't seem to be getting much interest from any high rated OL guys. Especially with our run oriented tradition and the fact that a majority of MS high school football is run oriented on offense. Is the big OL talent level down in MS compared to years past? Or are they just not qualifying? Loaded post, but I'm just curious since OL was our major problem last year, looks to be our concern this year, and was our big reason for success during our Gator Bowl season. Thoughts?

I think this is why we aren't on a lot of out of state OL studs.

Jake Thomas of Columbus, Brandon Mahaffey of Brandon, Deon Mix of USP, and Daronte Bouldin of Canton are all guys that we are in on heavy and they will all have several SEC offers. I honestly think we end up with Thomas and Mahaffey for sure and wouldn't surprise me if we get Mix and Bouldin as well.

But looking at 24/7....we are also on a guy from GA pretty hard as well as a C from Louisiana

Jennings to LSU. That's just freaking great. Elite quarterbacks are dropping off the board at a rapid pace. And we aren't close to landing the caliber of quarterback we need to compete in the SEC west. Kids that choose State over Middle Tennessee State ain't going to cut it. When is our quarterback guru head coach going to land an elite qb?

What I don't understand is why Jennings committed to LSU when they already have a 4 Start QB commit from Cal. I really don't understand why recruits do this. There are more SEC schools, and they all play a similar schedule. I just don't understand why all these kids choose to go to same schools, no matter the depth chart or who they have committed.

Not sure if youve seen the Elite 11 Dallas camp. It came on a few weeks ago and he beat out a couple of the top rated QB's in the nation for the MVP (One being Texas' 5 star Vince Young clone). Hes going to the national Elite 11 I believe. Also, Trent Dilfer was there and had nothing but great things to say about him. Not saying Kincaid is gonna be RGIII, but I wouldnt go so far as to say hes not the answer. Id be more than thrilled with him or Dobbs.

They don't care who else LSU recruits. They'll just beat them out. You know that's not realistic, and I know that's not realistic. But that really is what most of these guys believe.

we have landed 4-star Tyler Russell and I have no idea why in the hell he wasnt a 4-star Dak Prescott. Looks like we have done pretty damn well- especially if you will look back at guys we have landed at the QB position the 10 years prior

Sandberg is our top target from what I understand- I dont think either of those guys are in our top 3

He committed to MSU so early. No drama there to sell subscriptions.

I really think the sky is the limit for him though. I watched him at Haughton a couple of times, and always left very impressed.

excellent chance we get him...

Every other SEC school is filling up at the QB position, or at least have other qb's committed.

I expect us to have a qb committed(or at least have coaches know which one we're likely to get) within the next 3-4 weeks...

I remember Mullen telling an alumni gathering that he was headed to louisiana to try to keep lsu from stealing his QB.
