Glad we finally have all this parity in the SEC

We could just do what Texas Tech did. Spend $25 million on their portal class, and bring in a brand new defense and four all conference players. Who is opening up the piggy bank?

Might be how Franklin ended up at VT. His line of thinking might be the easiest route to the playoff.

No idea why people think being able to openly and legally bid for/buy players would be beneficial for the MSUs of the world.
We’re going to stop those big schools from cheating once and for all!

How are we going to do that?

We’re going to make everything they’ve been doing under the table legal. Which will allow them to do it on a much larger scale than ever before.

So how is that good for us?

It’s not.

They are looking good so far.
Because they are good. IU has always had a loyal alumni base when it came to giving. IU has one of the largest endowments of any public universities in the country and 800K alumni. Besides Mark Cuban (who once gave $6MM to the rugby team), IU has billionaire grads nobody has ever heard of. Apparently their heavy hitters have decided to fund the football and if that continues, like Texas Tech, they will be good.

Cignetti can evaluate, coach, and motivate players. He got IU to invest in their football program. After last season, he knew he had to get some "dudes" in the transfer portal after getting beat at the OL/DL lines versus OSU and Notre Dame. He executed in the transfer portal and those guys can play on defense. Sometimes you can miss big in the transfer portal but Cignetti did not the past offseason. His DL can play.

OSU QB Julian Sayin had been sacked 7 times all season. IU sacked him 5 times in the B1G Champ game. Really the first time QB Sayin was pressured for the entire 60mins of a game.

My bet is the under the table payments are still happening. By doing so the fanbase will believe players sign because their team is superior.
