With 47 ticks on the clock, Eville returns the ball to their 35 on a pooch kick.

The sophomore back moved the chains and the Tigers let the half end.

Question for any refs here. Why is a 50 yd FG attempt not returned to the line of scrimmage? Spotting on the 20 seems like a gift to the kicking team

The audio is the home is the team game announcer. He assumes you are there and does not give the down, distance and time all that often.

That's been covered in the Ref thread. A FG in high school is like a punt with the potential for 3 points. If it is no good and lands in the endzone it's a touchback. If it lands at the 10, that's where the new possession starts for the other team. Not sure most high school coaches know this rule - I would expect to see more kicks from the 25 to 30 in forth and long situations and most times coaches go for it anyways.

I don't know how they could not know the rule. It has been the rule forever. Then again we had a ref crew not know the rule a few years ago and then apologize for screwing us at halftime...

Eville still fighting. Moving the ball down the field. Then slowed 4 and 4, the throw to the end zone, incomplete.

In HS football, a FG attempt that ends up in the end zone is a touch back and comes out to the 20.

Long pass by GW to the goal line and they score the next play. Kick is good

31-14 For the visitors.

GW has cleaned up its play in the 2nd half. They seem to be pulling away a bit, but still plenty of time remaining in the game.

wow lots of scoring in this one. The offensive predictors were spot on and I was dead wrong. I thought it would be something like 24-21 at the end and we are way past that total with a good chunk of 4th quarter to go!!

Cap'n I love you brother, but I've been looking forward to this matchup for years. I would much rather have this game in wilmette than on the shores of beautiful lake ellyn! The best place to see a game is Duchon!

Would be interested in Capn's opinion of the teams they have had to play. NV, H-F, and Eddy......that's a gauntlet. Which team played Hitters the toughest?

Great game by GBW. The Hitters are for real and they are tough group of kids. I just hope they aren't beat up so bad that LA doesn't get their A game next Saturday. I know they are banged up, but who isn't at this point.

Capn, hope you had a safe trip down and back. Your boys played their asses off. Hopefully your experience down here was enjoyable. Good luck to you and your team.

It's track season for me now.

I heard LA was on their 3rd string QB today against Huntley. Everyone banged up with such a vicious 8A gauntlet to run this post season. Might be whoever is healthiest and deepest wins the 8A title.

NV was the most complete team, no doubt. Great LBs, Really good RB, Great WR, Tough FB, oline and dline huge strong and grinders.

H-F had some good skill guys and their RBs/QB were the toughest to bring down.

Eville had some really good RBs. Followed/set up blocks really well.

Ultimately, Eville, in my opinion, was undone by their guys going both ways and getting gassed. 99 is the real deal, but you could see he was worn down by 4th quarter. Great competitor. Not sure he will get away with that tackling style in the NFL though.

I hear you. I kind of wish this game happened last year when we had Brod the Bod, but will take it this year.

I can't believe all the sand bagging going on already. If Marwede runs Wildcat, you don't need any other QB. I really feel for my Hitters though. Three really big, strong teams and guys getting beat up, but if I know my boys, they will be ready to make a game of it next Saturday. Early line is LA -14 and an O/U of 54. Weather looks good this week, so maybe Duchon holds up and gets to host the game this year. Of the last four years, we are 2-0 at Glenbard South and 0-2 at Duchon. Big game Saturday.

Let the pigeons loose!!!

Safe trip accomplished. Loved your facility and the people were really great hosts. Not sure I get the jumbotron video feed. The game on the screen was much harder to see than actually watch the field. Head scratch, but man alive if that a top shelf facility. Great parking & flow, stands were huge and comfy. Really impressed.

Thanks again for ordering up the perfect weather.

I still am amazed at how good that game was between the Hitters and Neuqua. Neaqua played without Owen Piche(WR-Navy) and Donny Navarro(WR/KR, Jr.). They might have made a difference but it still would have been paper thin.

Congrats on the win. I might have to head up to Duchon next week. I've never been and am a sucker for great HS environments. Should be a slobberknocker.
