A roly-poly. Haven't seen one in decades. But I don't flip over rocks like I used to when I was a kid either.

The gnats were absolutely awful up here last spring. Worst I’ve ever seen them.

They haven’t been noticeable at all so far but it’s been extremely dry too.

ETA: if you haven’t seen Dr Goddards videos MSU Extension puts out, you’re missing out.

We had those black flying bugs in/around the house as kids we used to catch um, pull their heads off, and they lay these little white eggs, perfectly stacked in rows, till they ran out. We called them air conditioner bugs. Haven’t seen them in years.
