I don't see Arkansas beating LSU twice, nor do I see Texas doing it. Hasn't LSU won something like 16 games in a row?

Of course, I thought that exact same thing about Cal St Fullerton heading into the CWS.

LSU lost their first game in Hoover to Vandy, so they are probably around 11 or 12 in a row.

the arkansas win last night may give them a small amount of momentum but i just don't see them beating LSU twice either. the bats on that damn team are unreal. there is no way that LSU would have left as many guys on the bag as virginia did last night. it would have easily been over in the ninth if the same situation were to arise.

second, i didn't think Texas had a chance in their game against ASU. they find a way to win but i don't they will be able to stop LSU. they are the worst hitting team in the series and it will come back to haunt them when LSU starts jacking home runs on them.

Hell, he was coming off a CWS appearance with Georgia in his second year. He was a legend in Starkville, and had won big here before. While it was a mistake, to classify that as LT's biggest blunder is a bit too far, keeping in mind he hired Croom too.

Polk turned UGA around in two years. It looked like he had the fire back. I thought he'd roll in here, rack up on the recruits and go out with a national championship.

In retrospect, it was a bad decision. But at the time, it seemed like the move to make. I find it convenient when people post that they were against it from the jump.

I told a UM fan at work that I thought we'd made a huge mistake and he just kind of looked at me funny and said, "But Polk's coming off a CWS appearanace." I just shook my head and said, "I don't see any way this is going to turn out good for us. We need to move on to the future and not back to the past."

plenty of former and current (then) players that were overjoyed.

Those in opposition were a small minority. Maybe you were among that crowd - if you say you were, I'll take you at your word. I still find it interesting when the topic comes up and people post that they were against it back then. I didn't run across many of them when it happened. </p>

and stated I thought Polk wass getting close to being done. Did I think it would ever get to be as bad as it is now? No, I didnt. But i wanted somebody a little younger that would bring a little more energy. Same with football. I questioned Crooms from the start because of his age. That and the fact I had never heard of him. Football needed energy in 2004, and we didnt get that there either.

Everyone thinks we should win it all, which could get in our heads. I'd rather be the underdog. Any of the remaining teams can win this thing. I hope we stay hot.
