Still worried about a decent setup man/middle relief pitcher. Starting pitching should be fine like last year if everyone stays healthy. If offense picks up where they left off last year then scoring runs won't be a problem either. I'm looking for great things from Heyward as well. Go Braves!

I'm a little skeptical of their lineup and I don't like Cabrera at leadoff (which is where he is for opening day). Hopefully Heyward lives up to his billing and the relief pitching is consistent.

I think the have a decent chance at making the playoffs this year. Hope so.

I don't really have a problem with Melky or Diaz hitting leadoff. Both have good OBP and are pretty good runners on the basebaths. Not really SB threats, but adequate top of the order guys

</div><div>I suspect that Bobby Cox will play around some at the beginning of the year but I feel that this lineup is very balanced top to bottom with really no weaknesses. Glaus has to have a big year this year and Chipper has to stay healthy for the Braves to hopefully make a run in the postseason.</div>

Can't wait for Manternity 2010 where I once again go on my annual pilgrimage to St. Louis. Also going to Kansas City as well. They've got some crazy little women there, and I'm going to get me one.

He was terribly mediocre last season. He had an OPS of .853 in 2008 with Pitt. He had a OPS of .819 in his 50 games with Pitt in 2009. He had a OPS of .772 with Atl last season.

He has an OPS of around .650 this spring. A definite drop off in what he is capable of

Could be wrong, but don't see him as an annual .850 OPS guy. If he is gonna be a leadoff hitter, he has got to find a way to get on base more.

Pittsburgh has to have an All Star. McLouth had a great first half in 08 to get that spot, but in the year and a half since....very mediocre.

Melky has basically secured the leadoff spot coming out of spring training for the days he'll be playing - so much so that he may be playing every day between left and center. He ripped it up and McLouth struggled and now has the injury too. I wouldn't be surprised either if Glaus bats 4th some, depending on the pitcher. He's really the key to the entire season, IMO. Also, Medlen is the only other "long" option if someone in the rotation goes down.

Also, not having a single lefty in the rotation is crazy. None of the guys really over-rely on breaking pitches, but hopefully that doesn't hurt us in the long run.

common theme for the Astros this year... and looking at their roster, I can definitely see why.
