I've heard they have pulled gators that size out of several refuges around the state. They dragged a beast of a gator out of the Noxubee refuge not too long ago. I'm hearing the DNR is trying their damnedest to rid the state parks of these bull gators. Most importantly, they are desperately trying to keep it on the down low. They don't want people knowing these things are out there.

Looks like Jacob attached the hook to the wrong limb.

All you have to do is drive by to know they are there. Back in college I used to wade fish Lake Lokafoma on the Noxubee Refuge. My last time doing that it was almost sundown and me and the guy I was with decided to make our way to the a shore about 200 yards away. About halfway between us and the bank there was a goose swimming. Back behind it you could start to see the water moving and could tell something was coming in behind the goose. All of a sudden there was a big splash of water and the goose was replaced by at least a 12' gator. Dinner was served. We had a quick strategy session and decided to "fish" our way to another bank that was only about a 100 yards away. I use the term fish loosely because I would make a cast but my bait would be behind me before I could reel it in.
