Going into week 8, does anyone still think the East is stronger?

Right now, I don't think it's any question the West is still stronger mainly because of aTm and Ole Miss playing much better than people thought they would. But right now, both sides seem to be getting a bit more even.

Who cares what the bottom looks like.

SC - Bama: push, let's see Bama win @ LSU
UF - LSU: Florida
MSU - UGA: MSU

I think people should care about the bottom simply because every now and then you should look over your shoulder to see how close your competition is getting. It's still relatively recent that we can legitimately be compared to UGA, UF, LSU, SC and Bama with a straight face.

Did anybody care about the bottom last year when Bama, LSU, and Ark were ranked 1, 2, 3 in the nation? Did anybody care about the bottom when TSUN fans successfully lobbied for the point that (until this season) Mullen hadn't beaten a SEC West team besides TSUN?

Yes and no.... At that point in time, those 3 teams made it readily apparent that the West was in a class of it's own, especially when the East's 3 best teams were comparable to 2 teams in the bottom half of the West (Us and Auburn).

This year is much different, and the point of the question (which you seemed to have missed) was which side this year was deeper. The West isn't top heavy this year and the East is rising a bit. I really don't see why you're making a big deal about having to resort to looking at the bottom half just to decide which might be more tough.

If we were to matchup right now with the East... I think the West would win more of the games.

Bama vs UF (Bama)
LSU vs USCe (LSU just beat them)
MSU vs UGA (I'd lean to UGA)
aTm vs TN (aTm)
Arkansas vs Vandy (Arkansas)
Ole Miss vs Mizzou (toss-up)
Auburn vs UK (no clue how to prognosticate this one)

4 wins for the West, 1 for the East, and two toss-ups is how I'd view a top-to-bottom pairing.
