for some school for the next couple months. I live in California so I'm not familiar of what the city of Garland has to offer, other than its close to Dallas. Good places to catch Husker games? Might go to OU/UT and see what the fuss is about. You know I'll be sporting some Crimson for pops, but with a big ol N on my hat. GBR

Welcome to Texas.

Get Time Warner Cable they have the Big Ten Network..you want miss a husker game...you can watch them all at home.....Otherwise Google North Texans for Nebraska watching sites. The closest one will pop up.

Definitely go to Texas/OU weekend during the State Fair.....People are not hostile to Nebraska gear here at all. You may see Husker stickers periodically.

If you haven't been to Jerry World, it's worth the visit.

And take in some high school football as well..Football season is what Texas is all about.

Garland is a decent area. We live in McKinney, which is further North.

Overall, we love DFW and you probably will as well. Lots to do and the city, overall is great.

Does TWC in San Antonio have BTN? Looks like I'm on the move as well.

If I recall, TMC in SA has BTN but not the alternates. I have Uverse and get the alternates.

I talked to a buddy of mine out there today to get an idea of neighborhoods to look through. He said I need to be generally west of 1604 and between Helotes and Petranco Road. So I'll be on the lookout. I think one of the neighborhoods was Bella Vista, and Redbird Ranch. Or anywhere near Govt Canyon.

In DFW TWC has only the BTN and no alternates. That could change. The other games are available on BTN2Go. Since I built a new HTPC this spring, I can watch this in the living room as well as on my desktop, tablets and phones. The thing is that you have to subscribe to a sports package as BTN is not included in any basic package.

Sounds right. Like a poster on the other thread said, you want to live close to work. I wouldn't necessarily say you need to be west of 1604 though, unless there's a difference in the schools that I'm not aware of.

Said something about a city tax. I'm still looking into that.
