The other reason I dont like golf as much as an Olympic because these guys from all over the world are already competing against each other all the time anyway. The beauty of the Olympics is that the competition exists between people that have no clue who each other are and have never competed against each other unless in another Olympics.RebelBruiser said:It's not the type of sport where the best man tends to win most times.
Tiger Woods is dominant in golf, but he still rarely wins even half the time. Meanwhile, when was the last time Usain Bolt lost a race? Golf just doesn't fit to me as far as the Olympics is concerned.

That's why it's going suck. There's a handful of other Olympic events like this. Road cycling comes to mind along with tennis. There are just bigger events out there that the players care more about.patdog said:It's the same deal with tennis in the Olympics, the Olympic format is exactly like any other tournament they play every week during the year. That's why the Olympics are never more than the 5th most important tournament even in the Olympic years. Golf will be the same, it'll be the 5th most important tournament. If they used a team format for each sport, it would add something. But just playing a regular tournament is just like any other week.

We're already in contact with PGA officials on a memorial for those golfers who lost their lives representing their country.patdog said:If fewer than 3 golfers survive the final round, medals will be awarded to the golfer(s) who complete the most holes in the 4th round.Seshomoru said:Round 4, the true test, will be played at Sonny Guy
