Lol, drainthetub isn't showing up anywhere, to play anyone, I can guarantee that :100points: -- that would ruin his entire sctick and secret identity, and he'd be exposed forever.

He's the Mashburned of Golf.

How old are your clubs?

A little story about golf clubs. Went with my daughter today for her golf lessons. Her coach s sons are two of the best under 20 golfers here in Taiwan playing and winning tournaments here in Taiwan and in China. I was watching the. Boys hitting 9 irons 30 yards than I ever could but the thing I noticed was the angles of their clubs were much stronger than my Wilson Staff Blades that I have owned since the 80's. In fact their 9 irons were almost like my 7 iron.

The point being if you are playing old clubs your distances will be much shorter than playing new clubs with the same swing speed.

Anyone else notice the different angles in modern clubs to allow the manufacturers claim longer distances?

Who is their best club fitter there? Its really hard to find an excellent fitter and not someone who is just trying to sell you stuff.
My first response to ur original question was almost don't waste your money, but didn't want to sound like an ***, and I know man o war is a good facility. Having said that though, I couldn't tell ya as I've never been fitted. I think it's pretty much a waste of money just like changing clubs and putters all the time and buying the latest/greatest this and that. It's all a scam somewhat. You may save a stroke here and there, but until you put in the practice and play regularly all that junk ain't gonna help your average weekend golfer.

If you do it all the time it can be a waste of money but i firmly believe in keeping up with the latest technology to give you any advantage you can get.

There's a difference between keeping up and changing every year though. Practice is where it's at people, just like anything else.

Heading to North Myrtle Beach for a golf trip at the end of February. It could be ugly due to not even looking at my clubs since November. This is about the time I start to get that itch to get back out there.

Just picked up four dozen 2016 ProV1x for 90$ at LostGolfBalls. Anybody else buy from there? The 5A balls are always in excellent shape. I've never had a complaint.

I will agree that changing equipment all the time is a waste of money. Nothing beats practice (good practice), lessons, and playing. That said, being a single digit right now I do think it is important to have the right lofted irons, correct shafts, etc. It will not turn me into a scratch golfer but do think it will add more consistency to my shots. I play 3-4 times a week, but agree a weekend hacker is not going to get a ton of benefit from it. Haven't bought new clubs in 6 years so with the recent technology I do think I would benefit from newer clubs (last year's models). Really want to go somewhere to test my current against newer equipment with someone who is not pushing product on me to see if I really need to make some updates.

If you have not seen this guy's Youtube channel, you should. Really good instructor. He has an interesting take on Tiger's issue.

The only back injury Tiger is having is between his ears. Complete head case for quite a while and he knows he doesn't have an ounce of a chance to make the weekend given his current status.

First round of the year coming up. Not sure if I should play from the ladies tees or juniors. How many mulligans is too many for the first round?

I absolutely don't need new clubs nearly as much as I need to spend more time on the short game area, my chipping especially sucks ***, and I used to a be a really good chipper, never had to work that hard on my putting because I had a lot of short putts when I missed the green, but my game inside of 25 yards has gotten shabby as hell.

2 balls off the first tee I can live with in the off-season from my lesser skilled buddies, although I typically do not do it myself...then it's time to play golf.

If you do not hit balls on range before round and hop out and tee off, it's best ball off first tee (of the 2). Then game on.

77 today at Creek in howling wind. I may not beat that score all year in great conditions. Have hit one bucket so far. Pulled a decent round out of my ***.

Well golf today was very rough. Should've used a bunch of mulligans. Could've used them. Hopefully I got my worst round of the year out early.

I played decent today except for about 3 or 4 bad holes. Trying to SLOOOOWWWW my swing down and hit it solid, really going to work on tempo early this year, plus regain my feel around the greens

So my work territory is gonna change in the next couple of months and will be spending more time towards E-town, Bowling Green, Glasgow and close to the Tennessee border. Have never played any golf down that way. Any suggestions on nice courses in that area?

Thanks in advance.

Well as far as public courses, Crosswinds here in BG is the best public course in town. I am a member at Indian Hills so if you want to ever play there I can maybe get you on. Barren State park, is another nice track. Rolling Hills in Russellville is just about a 15 minute drive from BG, try there, nice little track.

Fox Hollow in Glasgow and Diamond Caverns in Park City by Mammoth Cave, (very scenic and lots of trees) are two nice little courses that offer a nice challenge and beautiful scenery. I always enjoyed Shady Hollow in Cub Run. Short course, but there are some real challenges on that course. Fairways are not the best in the world, but definitely worth playing.

Barren River still gives me nightmares. I haven't played the course since my Middle-school Pepsi/Baker Geary Jr Tour days25+ years ago, but at the time it seemed like the tightest course of all time. Place had little BBdK psyched out, especially the Back 9.
