Rosewood in Lebanon, Ky is worth the trip. Crosswinds hopefully has their fairways back in shape. If they do, I second that it is a fun play.

If you can get on Glasgow Country Club, it is a great course with some very fast greens.

Barren River still gives me nightmares. I haven't played the course since my Middle-school Pepsi/Baker Geary Jr Tour days25+ years ago, but at the time it seemed like the tightest course of all time. Place had little BBdK psyched out, especially the Back 9.

Scoring there is as such: find 8 balls, lose 12 is 4 over. I like the course but one must hit it straight on the back nine. The front is more forgiving. The pro there, Carmelo Benassi, is one of the best in the state. I think he is back this year.

Benassi used to be the pro at Kearney Hills at on time, and he spent many years teaching in Frankfort before that. Rosewood is a nice track. Maywood in Bardstown is a decent track as is My Old Kentucky Home State Park.

what about Olde Stone in Bowling Green? One hell of a GC, IMO
I was out there when they were building the course back in 2004 ish and at the time you could just tell it was going to be an awesome course. I still have not been able to play it but hope to one of these days.

Olde Stone was immaculate the last time I was there. If you can get on it, it's worth the bucks. However, go equipped with the right attitude or it could be a good walk spoiled. It can set up for the highly skilled very well. But for the every day hacker, find the up tees and enjoy the scenery.

Why do they put those stickers on clubs making it almost impossible to get them off? Driver arrived and I had to put it over the sink and use hot water and soap to get the stickers off. And you rarely remove it all off.

Laughable the PGA Tour counts team events. Snead won 5 events with a teammate.

I left Olde Stone out for obvious reasons. Yes the golf course is amazing, but also very harsh on average players. I would not recommend someone to spend the kind of coin to play it, and then walk away pissed.

I played it a couple of times. I love the course and the beauty of it, but for my skill level, it is a waste of time.

Man, if Spieth continues to add length... watch out. Seems like he's prepped for a big year.

DJ is gonna win multiple majors this year. Mark it down
Has to be the Masters favorite now. Having a son was the best thing to ever happen to that guy. Took his attention way from cocaine, gambling, etc. and now is using his full God given abilities. Sounds like having a kid helped Paulina get on a good path as well.

Good example of a player who did not screw with this mechanics when things were not going well. Was smart and focused on his weaknesses which was mainly his wedge game. Got that fixed, added a slight fade, and is now on a roll.

Spieth will be the favorite at Augusta for years to come, unless some physical ailment hinders his game. 2-1-2 and should have been 2-1-1. His focus this year will be off the charts because of what happened last year. And his (to him) sub par putting seems to have been righted.

If he has a good game w/ the flat stick, he wins easy.

That's some great inside info there. Spieth wins the Masters EASY if he putts well -- writing that down!

When you lay the sod over it at 12, AFTER hitting it in the water in the first place, you should not have won. He barely even made the creek on the 2nd shot, probably couldn't decide whether to lay up or not.

Most people say The Masters is terrible experience and Augusta is an overrated dump, but I'll take your word for it, as you actually seem to be a golfball.

^^ive never been on a thurs-sun so that may be crazy/limited on what u see, but rather a practice round (Tuesday I believe it was). And I would recommend the same to anyone who simply enjoys the game as you can pretty much go anywhere and see almost everybody without the huge crowds. Bought my ticket off the street right before going in for 125 and it was worth every penny and then some. They're not lying when they say tv doesn't do it justice as every square inch is impeccable. Also, concession prices are very reasonable ($5 got you a sandwich/chips/drink and beers were just a few bucks) which I thought was really cool for a change. Somebody told me they simply didn't need to make the extra money ha. All in all the place is ridiculously gorgeous imo.

Help a Golf Laser/Rangerfinder *****, and post your reviews of budget models -- not going to spend $500 or whatever for a Bushnell Tour or whatever...they can't be THAT much better than the others.

Seeing a $150 model from TecTecTec popping up on lots of 'best budget' lists...anyone have?

Never heard anyone say The Masters is a terrible experience. Those that have gone that I know have raved about what a great experience they had.

I just bought a MasterGrip Laser finder, for $135. It gets the job done for my purposes.

Been to Augusta several times. The area is a dump, but Augusta National is a real life painting. If has to be on every golfers bucket list. Take lots of dough because the merchandise shops are expensive, but has tons of really awesome stuff in them. Their Pimento Cheese sandwiches are a must have. Just going to watch the guys hit on the range is a treat itself, but watching them skip balls over the water on hole 16 on a practice day is really fun to watch.

Range finder wise, I have a Bushnell Tour X, but a buddy of mine recently bought a Bushnell Tour 4 for $290. I had a hard time spending $300+ on a rangefinder but the slope technology is VERY worth the price! The Tour X allows you to turn slope off for tournaments, but I use an older one without slope so nobody can accuse me of cheating.
