Help a Golf Laser/Rangerfinder *****, and post your reviews of budget models -- not going to spend $500 or whatever for a Bushnell Tour or whatever...they can't be THAT much better than the others.

Seeing a $150 model from TecTecTec popping up on lots of 'best budget' lists...anyone have?

I have a little bid older Nikon Cool Shot that has always worked great. New models are pricey but older ones aren't bad at all. Would recommend.

Definitely a swing and a miss on my part. Augusta on bucket list. Headed to The Players this year.
Love Sawgrass. Take the tour of the club house if you can and get down to the World Golf Hall of Fame. Great stuff.

Jerk Chicken nachos at the Urban Back 40 in St Augustine. Golf and food and Florida in the spring!

No golfball, but if Phil can land his drives in the fairway and has the flat stick going, he has as good of a shot as anyone to win the Masters.

Out on a limb here, but if Tiger was not broken down and bat **** crazy, I think he would do fairly well there also. Cole can you confirm ? I will wait for your opinion on this.

Wonder what other Elite Top 25 in the World golfers have a chance at The Masters if they drive the ball well and catch fire on the greens?

So far we have Spieth & Phil.

Your idiocy knows no bounds. Must be a gift.

If DJ, Day, or Rory drive the ball well, dial their irons in, and make putts I think they also have a chance to contend.

I've watched Rory quite a bit and if he gets the right speed and line on his putts, they go in. I've been to Augusta many times, been on Augusta once for a practice round. Not a hack.

If tigers back gets 100% healthy and he hits it and putts it like he did in 97 he's got a chance.

Would love to see him get the career slam. He is not as consistent at Spieth, but when he really gets it going, he is still the best in the world, IMO. Although Jason Day and Dustin Johnson would probably disagree. :sunglasses:

Disagree, I think they will need a really good short game to come along at the right time also. With the much competitive tour now days, you can not just rely on driving the ball, stiff approach shots and putting to carry you. But IF they can drive it, hit irons, chip and putt, then yes I agree, they will be right there with Phil.

Have played 5 rounds with the Snell MTB, and it's every bit as good (for me) as the ProV1 in all aspects that I can see. For me, my true measure of a golf ball is how it feels to me wedges-in, and there is no discernible difference for me from the ProV.

Great ball.

Glad you like it. I have been pimping that ball for awhile now and have gotten several guys at the club to start using them. I see zero drop off from the ProV1's performance. In fact, I am getting more spin on the greens than I did with the ProV1.

As for Perez I am not sure I agree that Tiger is faking his back issues, but I do agree that its likely Tiger now knows he can't beat these guys on tour now. In his prime, he pounded his opponents on Par 5's because of his length. That is completely negated now because there are many guys who can hit it as long or longer than him. His short game was impeccable but with age, injuries, and shot confidence it will take a miracle for him to develop a world class short game again.

Anyone playing Callaway Apex irons? They get lots of pos. reviews but I've never played Callaway much past the Warbird and GBB.

My buddy has the 2016 Forged ones and they are incredible irons. If you need some help get the CF version. I am seriously considering getting them as well.

Snell mtb? Smh
Don't knock it until you at least try one. I was skeptical as well, but I am telling you its a legit ball. Dean Snell is an extremely reputable professional in the golf ball business. He helped create the who's who of golf balls out today.

Performance around greens is every bit as good as a Prov1. In fact, I am getting noticeably more spin with my wedges than I did with a ProV. I gave a few to a buddy who is scratch. He was skeptical as well and after a round he was impressed, but he is sticking with his Bridgestone more out of proven confidence with that ball. If someone does not like it then no harm in going right back to what you were playing before.

Ehhh I think I'll pass. Sure it may "perform similar", but nothing is going to out perform the pro v.

I get ProV1s at $27 per dozen through work, and have 5-6 boxes in my garage at all times...just wanted to try the Snell for fun due to all the great reviews/test results...and Dean Snell (who co-designed the ProV1)

It's a great ball, period -- several + handicaps at my club who would wipe the floor with drainthetub are playing it. At $30, it's a no brainer for your standard good player over the $50 ProV imo.

Wonder if Snell, Vice, and others will have any impact on the pricing of the other leading balls from the Major Brands? Golf equipment prices in general are COMPLETELY out of control...so count me as a fan of these companies producing quality products at discounted prices for the average player -- which golf obviously needs WAY more of if you take a look at all the courses/clubs struggling across this country.

Those gotta be refurbished or x outs..I get them at cost for $32 a dozen. And I doubt any plus handicappers are wiping the floor with a plus 1. Just sayin.

They're something if you're getting them cheaper than cost. And maybe you'll find out for a small price this summer [winking]

Used to play in tournaments a lot but work too much for that now. But the game is still polished and regularly take skin money/local tournament prizes on my days off.

No, they aren't. I work for a Billion Dollar Company with a marketing department who sells all sorts of things (tools) to the agency force at cost or below, especially on closeouts during the offseason.

What's your name & club, or Ghin #? Also please post your last day off tournament prize, for funsies.

I'll play you any time, doggy. If you're a +1, I'm getting 3 & 2 and we can play for any amount you're comfortable. I ended the season as a 4, but with any luck for you, I'll be down to a 2 or so by the time we play now that I'm in a position to actually play/practice regularly again.

Just find it funny you act like one of the better golfers in the state, yet know NONE of the actual best golfers in the state...nor do you play in any real tournaments (Am, Open, Metro, City, etc) to showcase your incredible skill. Such a waste, mystery man.

We'll also invite TFields, who is a legit + handicap, and I'll make an extra $100 side bet you get ragdolled. :100points:

[laughing] You're wrong.

I buy new Titleist ProVs from my company, brand new, in the box. I pay $27 per dozen. I do not know what they purchase them for.

Sounds like you're getting the shaft man, but enjoy paying $32. :fire:

:joy: And I find it funny that u act like low and + handicappers are only at your club or that all of them have to play in state am tournaments. I know and play with several guys who do that and do it very well (many wins and top 5's) and then I know and play with another handfull who don't, but can go out and fire a 67 with ease. You obviously need to get away from your club a little more "doggy".

You won't be quite as "good" once you quit hiding behind a keyboard, that's one thing I'm quite certain of.

-Purchased this little guy from Amazon ---> it's perfect. Holds a 6 pack, and designed to fit in the side pocket of your standard Titleist (or whatever) carry bag...which it easily does.

You have no clue how sales/marketing departments function at large corp's, do you?
No, but I know exactly how the golf business works. And if you're getting pro vs for less than cost you're getting ripped off. Keep telling yourself they are legit though.
