Backing this up. I play those balls with the blue logo all the time. I don't have access to buy them but I have access to several guys who do. $27 has been the going price for quite some time.
You won't be quite as "good" once you quit hiding behind a keyboard, that's one thing I'm quite certain of.
-Purchased this little guy from Amazon ---> it's perfect. Holds a 6 pack, and designed to fit in the side pocket of your standard Titleist (or whatever) carry bag...which it easily does.
Looks sweet, I lost my mini cooler that fit in my golf bag (out of site of the clubhouse police) a year ago, and have needed to replace it.
^ pick it up, it's perfect. I spend a few hundo per month on booze/food in season out there, and buy a few beers from the bar for every round as well...so I definitely do not feel guilty about 'topping off' my beverages with my secret stash to avoid $15 per 6pack on occasion.
-Drainthetub is an idiot. He has a buddy who wholesales as a golf rep and now he's the expert on Corporate Marketing Swag. As if I don't know what Xouts and random buckets of Logo Overruns are, lol. I was playing ProV before you had your first set of cut-offs.
What's cost on a Titleist/FJ Golf Shirt that retail for $67 currently? I just picked up a few of those for $12 + a ridiculous $7.99 shipping as well from our 'company store' during a recent winter closeout. [eyeroll] HOW CAN THEY AFFORD TO DO THAT? MUST HAVE PICKED THEM UP AT GOODWILL AND RESOLD THEM TO US LOL.

I'm exactly as good as I think I am, which is pretty marginal. I carry a 4 right now playing once a week from May-August (which is about to change)...pretty consistent mid 70s guy who sprinkles in a few 72s and even more 81s along the way.

Ok well maybe you should just save yourself the embarrassment. Idc about your history or who u are or what club you belong to...I have nearly the same story and am still scratch. Like riding a bike. You're really annoying and insecure...I've never said anything of the sort. Just calling you out on being a mystery man and constantly running your mouth. For someone so proud of their game it's pretty weird. Come out from behind the shadows, it's a more enjoyable experience -- some good people on these boards.

Never played in bowling green. Home track would be anything in or around lexington. I don't like playing the same course over and over and over so I switch it up.
Worked with a guy who came from olde stone and he bragged about how awesome it was (this was 10 years ago so not sure what kind of shape it's in now), but never got out that way to actually play it.
Nice little track, has some really challenging holes. By reading your post, if you broke 80, consider it a good round.
Yea I'd love to play it. I've played a few courses like that..if anybody goes to southern pines on trips or anything check out the pit and Tobacco Road. Seen scratch golfers struggle to break 90 their first time playing, including myself.
French lick (dye course) being another...but I'm sure ur saying more like French lick just because of length and difficulty. The other 2 I mentioned are just because u have no f'n clue where the hole is.

cawood `tont` court, no club affiliation at the present, 5.8, won four "A" flight tourneys on golfweek amateur tour albeit the competition was light at the time to say the least.
I probably know u and good chance we've played together oh man of mystery.
Edit: Not on amateur tour although I know a lot of the guys that do that around here, but probably at a game here or there if u play in any of the skins groups etc..

Who are these "real players in Lex" and how does one join this elite group?
A bunch of guys without names, apparently. Golfers know the 'real' players in Lex...as they play in the City Championship, KGA events, Marquee Invitationals, and other tournaments with stacked fields. Lexington is full of great golfers.

A good rule my teaching pro likes to teach to folks who really want to play great golf, "If you want to get better at golf you need to lose a lot of money on the course because eventually you are going to get tired of losing money and have no choice but to get better". Truer words have never been spoken at the golf course.
Actually, several years ago I told a teaching pro on the range where I was taking a "full swing" lesson that my goal was to get down to a solid single digit HCP. She turned and pointed at the practice green and short game area and said "If that is your goal, then you can't spend too much time over there". I try to remind myself of that every now and then, and remember to practice chipping and putting.
