That was awesome. According to a yankee friend of mine from Minnesota, we are quickly becoming "the people's choice" for the fans of schools that didn't make the CWS. Those beards are really starting to grow in. If we have to play two games, and the championship goes 3, throw in a rain day, and the team is going to look like a "Duck Dynasty" episode.
Offensively speaking, I feel like Rea and Henderson are 1a and 1b for most improved player throughout the season. Both used to be strikeout and DP machines, but they're each holding their own at the plate now. Hell, it could be said that Rea is downright dangerous.
Big Wes seems to have gotten a lot of confidence at the plate that wasn't really there before, and I look forward to seeing how he progresses even more over the next year. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see him take a Renfroe level jump between this and next season.

I can tell you from reading the other boards the teams left in our bracket are scared to death of Rae. At least the fans are.
a buddy of mine (MSU grad) and his son were in Cooperstown for little league baseball and while in one of the many souvenir shops watched a kid maybe 7 or 8 years old pick out a MSU baseball cap as his choice out of ALL the div-1 schools that they had for sale ... he said that they were obviously not from the south ... this was just after the 2nd game of the super regional against UVA ......we are getting more exposure out of this than I realized
Most improved throughout the season has to he Pirtle. Hitting close to .310 after the worst start to a season I've ever seen.

Really happy for Wes. You can tell he's put in work on his hitting. For as much as he helps us in the field, he's relevant whether or not he's hitting. He deserves a lot more credit than he's given, and that includes me regarding hitting. That guy's had us on his back lately.
Pirtle showed promise early season- just needed to adjust to the SEC.

Britton last year was the wort start I have ever seen.
I do agree that Pirtle is the most improved player over the course of the season. His fielding was always solid, but I believe he was hitting close to .250 about halfway in. It's not like he caught on fire for a couple weeks, either. It's been a steady climb, and he's turned out to be a very pleasant surprise.
