NEWSCORE - A mob of angry protesters chased a would-be flag burner at Louisiana State University (LSU) off campus Wednesday to chants of "USA, USA."</p>

Graduate communications student Benjamin Haas had earlier been given permission by the school to burn the flag. But because he lacked a local burn permit, he agreed instead to read a statement in an area of the university known as free speech alley.</p>

As Haas read the statement, a crowd around him erupted into cheers and jeers, many shouting "Go to hell, hippie, go to hell."</p></div></div>

Patriot of the United States.....burn the U. S. Flag?

And...if you say...."because ourConstitution allows it"..... then I'll go ahead and pre-empt that by using my right to "freespeech" .......and callthose who believe it is okay to burn the U. S. Flag.....a worthless pile of hot dung.

Assuming you don't have a problem with my right to "free speech", of course.

"It doesn't make him immune to an *** kicking though."

And I believe an "*** kicking" would come under the "freedom of expression clause".

Sorta like "a boot up your ***" or "dropping a 1000 lb. bomb on a Taliban enclave"

I LIKE Freedom of Expression .....hehehehe

I'm not a lawyer, though.

And the government doesn't "Grant" you the right to free speech. Free speech is part of your natural rights. The government can only take it away.

It is a f'ing public university. The entire campus should be a free speech zone. LSU may not have designated free speech areas like many universities do, but the very idea of a free speech zone makes me nauseous. I can say whatever I want in a public place. ( Just so long as it isn't directed at a cop. In that case, you go to jail for insulting someone with a GED.)If you don't like it, then you can just get the 17 over it.

Bruiser, in a truly free society, people are going to be allowed to make decisions that offend you. That is life. I don't agree with you when it comes to your ridiculous belief that some speech shouldn't be allowed due to it being unpatriotic, but I wholeheartedly support your right to voice your opinion.

And for the record, I've never been accused of being a liberal.

Ricky Bobby: Nobody plays jazz at The Pit Stop!
Jean Girrard: Then why is the song on the jukebox?
Bartender: We keep it on there for profiling purposes. We also have the Pet Shop Boys and Seal.<div style="overflow: hidden; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; border: medium none;">
