9pm central. LA is in midseason form and it's a meaningless preseason friendly for Real Madrid. That should be at least2 goaladvantage for LA. I'll say 3-1 Madrid.

It should be 8 or 10 to nothing. If MLS wants to be popular they need more talent than just one old dude from man u. I though they learned that when they brought pele in awhile ago. Btw new England got smoked by man u 4-1 last night.

OVERESTIMATED the MLS. I didn't think I was capable of THAT seeing as I think they are about equal to League Two in England. LA just pulled one back though, 4-1. Madrid calledoff the dogs it looks like. MLS has a LONG way to go to be a respectable league. It's fun to watch, when they play among themselves.

I don't think anyone expected Galaxy to win, but there are several reasons to expect a better matchup. We are mid-season while this is their first match together in couple of months. They are without several of their best players. Hell, Ronaldo didn't even play until the second half.<div>
</div><div>Beckham was non-existent tonight against his former team. Donovan? Where was he?</div><div>
</div><div>Someone in the thread compared the MLS to the English second division, which is the third tier league in England. I think that is generous at this point.</div>

was always only REALLY good at crosses and set pieces. He was an average player other than that in his PRIME. He is long past that. Donavan couldn't come cloet to cutting it in Germany at Dortmund, which is the fouth best league in Europe. Spain is either 1st or second. League Two is the fouth tier in England. TheEPL is top, followed by the Championship and then League One.

It will still be AWHILE before players like Ronaldo will want to come play in the US. I agree MLS is fun to watch against one another but way out classed against the world. I'll take these types of tourneys as progress reports and right now MLS is the Donte Walker of soccer.

Of course, that and NY are the only places any of these stars would want to go other than MAYBE Dallas. And I'm not sure if he was being completely serious. He may have been just giving thepaparazzisome material to write about.

But yes, as much as I enjoy the MLS (which needs a damn southeaster team), we suck.

donovan had a good run with everton.

and i seriously doubt ronaldo meant he'd leave a major euro league for
MLS anytime soon, he probably meant when he's 35 and washed up and
looking for a last payday he'd come to the galaxy or red bulls. also,
why is dallas more attractive to a foreign star than any other MLS city
(besides NYC and LA)?

Everton is a very solid team playing the best competition in the world. It's definitely tougher than his initial stint in Germany, and he played very well.

I think anyone expected anything but complete domination by Madrid was kidding themselves, regardless of the circumstances.
