I would rather them get ranked now, during this patch of weak games
Seems like this team would get the big head after entering the top 25. If we enter this week 1) they know they sucked against troy despite any ranking and 2) they are playing USA next week. I can't help but think part of the reason for tonight's crappy play was getting the big head after Auburn. We wait to enter later, we increase the chance to flame out.

In the AP Poll, we were 30th, so we need to leapfrog 5 teams: VA Tech and Tennessee will fall out, and Arkansas definitely won't get more votes than us. That's leapfrogging 3. If BYU loses, it will be either us or Oregon State for the 25th spot, and they might give it to us over a 1-0 Oregon State team (3-9 last year) even though they got a few more votes than us last week.
In the Coaches' Poll, we were 28th, Arkansas and VA Tech will drop out, and so will Wisconsin probably, even though they narrowly beat Utah State. It helps that Ohio State isn't eligible for the Coaches's.
Bottom line: We're probably 25th in the Coaches and first out in the AP, unless BYU loses, then we'll be 25th in the AP too.
