Wouldn't have shocked me but Kentucky is actually good and it still is brutal playing the west. Rutherford B Hays said:

I told all of you this is what would happen soon after A&M and Mizzou joined the league. And yes, this is good news for us (and for UM).

But after learning how the ACC got raped with their TV contract and how unhappy FSU is with it, I think the SEC will eventually wind up adding North Carolina and Virginia Tech. Don't know if that will happen next year or in 5 years, but mark it down, those are the 2 targets. And I think the SEC will wind up getting them.

Much better news than it could have been, no doubt (i.e. FL), but since 2005: Vandy has won 5 of 7 against OM, and wewere only4-3 against KY.

During that time Crxxm was 1-3 vs. Kentucky and Mullen is 3-0.

some better teams during the Croom years than they have these days. Not that it matters, but worth mentioning.

They generally suck by SEC standards, so we should always have a fighting chance regardless of home/away. If somehow we do lose, it sucks, but isn't quite as embarrassing as losing to Vandy. I wouldn't trade that match-up for any other east team.

All-time, we've played in more bowl games than they have and we've won more bowl games than they have. Considering the other options for a permanent opponent in the East, I'll take that in a heartbeat.

But KY had some decent teams during the run (i.e. might have not been 100% due to the Croom error).

Make no mistake, I'd rather be paired with KY that any other east team (including Vandy).

I wish they'd have home&home cross divisional stuff. She we go play somewhere in the east, I liked getting them again the next season in Starkville.

With so many teams in the SEC now, I understand there's just not time for those kinds of arrangements. With home&home, it would take 12 years to cycle through each cross divisional team.

the only team better to sign would be Vandy so that should make Kentucky a good thing to get to play them every year.

however, i wouldn't worry about it, I fully expect us to get to 16 before this 6-1-1 really gets going, probably 2014 season
