Sumlin has more experience as a head coach but Hudspeth maybe has more of an understanding of the SEC and the region as far as recruiting I think. Sumlin wouldn't be a bad hire either though.
Sumlin- A qb made him at houston, without Keenum last year they were pretty average. He reminds me of Fedora
Diaz- Dont forget he was coaching Mid Ten 2 years ago. He came into the perfect situation at State with a ready made defense with 3 NFL players. I know we have made him into some kind of defensive mastermind/legend but I believe he struggled calling a game the first half of last year. Texas has improved zero under him so far.The jury is still out on diaz
I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. I wouldn't have answered this way before this season, but I think I might go with Hudspeth. He's gotten ULL turned around in a hurry. I really like Sumlin and Diaz too, but I think you've got to put Diaz 3rd on this list just because he doesn't have head coaching experience.
This is a good question. I don't know much about Hud but I'm going to have to go with Sumlin. Besides being a hell of guy and what he has done at U of H, take a look at where he has coached and who he has coached under. Those are somepretty damn good mentors.U of H better enjoy him while they have him because he's not going to be there much longer. He is someone that could / will go to a BCS school and do very well because he knows how a top tier school runs a football program. It's not exactly easy pickin's at U of H.</p>
