because we do it so far in advance that it is nearly impossible to know if a team is going to be very good or not. Obviously if we get a game with a big name like Duke, North Carolina, or Kansas that is almost a guaranteed good game and rpi boost. Still, you would think UCLA would be in this group and they somehow aren't. It just goes to show that any given year different teams will be a lot better than they were when you scheduled them and certain teams will be worse than when you scheduled them. Essentially, bitching about an easy nonconference schedule is a "mute" point.
