Good things to come out of this snub...

1. Hopefully Byrne and Stansbury will get together and make a better schedule that will boost the RPI.
2. Hopefully our players will learn that they can't take games off because it will cost you in the end.
3. We might play with a chip on our shoulder next year which is always good.
4. Might actually get to play North Carolina in Starkville (will never happen again).
5.Hopefully a few more weeks of exposure for recruits to see us on TV.

Hell I had to find a bright side somewhere.

that there are ways around the RPI, one being to avoid the 200+. Hopefully if Davis sees this, Rick will.

I appreciate Bilas and co. for their hatred of the RPI. However, they then rely on it in looking at top 50 wins.

I am totally confused how Illinois has an RPI of 70 or soand Minnesota has an RPI of around 60 and were on the bubble because of some good RPI wins they had. Yet beating Minnesota and Illinois would not count as good wins because of their RPI.
Further more we had 3 wins against teams whose RPI was between 50 and 60 but that was treated like it didn't exist. As if there was something magical about that top 50 number.

he harped on it like a nagging woman. It was ridiculous. If you looked at Sagarin or Ken Pomeroy, we had anywhere from 2 to 4 more Top 50wins and fewer 100+ losses, but all he kept saying was they haven't beaten ANYBODY, based solely on the RPI. We damn sure beat 4 tourney teams(really 6 if you count the two wins we should have had vs UK).

Bilas has tooled on us for two solid weeks now. He's been a total douche.

and something I've never thought of.

I would hope committee members look at all the wins and not just zone in on the top 50 ones b/c I hope to hell no one thinks a win over 50 is better than a win over 51. Its pretty much the same damn thing and in many cases could be better. Who would you rather play---Old Dominion or Ole Miss?

Would you rather play Mississippi State or Rhode Island and Utah State?
