Good win- only need 4-5 more wins to be regional bound

But do you really think we can win our remaining non-SEC games (4), get swept in our remaining 3 SEC series, and still make a regional?

will be a resounding success after where we have been the last 3 years- you cant compare this season to the 1990's- that program does not exist anymore

They were 1) Make the SECT or 2) make a regional. Either one would show real progress, at least to me. We're still in the fight to do both of those. If we choke these last few weeks & miss out, there has to be some serious talks between Grasshopper & Cohen about next season. But if we can move past this weekend and find a way to get into either tournament, I'll consider this season a success. We aren't where we want to be, but we're definitely better. If you can't see that, you have an agenda. Period.

to lift weights on Friday(as I have read on here),.... I have a serious problem with the coach. If not, we need to give them some more time.

Just my opinion!

Nothing says success like that. Amazing how low your standards are for baseball.

couple of sets- lightweight in season to maintain strength. I see absolutely nothing wrong with them lifting light the day before. You realize that because they play 6 games a week in MLB, those guys lift on gameday?

is going to do wonders for our chances of hanging on to that coveted #3 seed we've been projected to get. And yeah, making the SECT does mean something. It means we don't totally suck. It's been so long since we've been there I'm not surprised you don't remember how it is not to suck.</p>

No wonder you are such a Stansbury supporter- you have forgotten that making the NCAA's is more important...I'm pretty sure making the NCAA's and the field of 64 with an at-large bid means you dont suck

I hope we do make a regional but it is more than just a little concerning that we have only won one SEC series this season. Our margin of error is pretty freaking slim right now.

But making the SEC Tourney guarantees that you make the NCAA's. You come in the top 8 in the SEC, you make the NCAAs, so it is stupid to say that it doesn't matter making the SEC tourney. I don't know that we will make the NCAA's without getting into the SEC tourney, we might it has happened to us before. <div>
</div><div>There are really 4 teams from the west competing for 2 spots and we play two of them in the last 3 weeks, along with the second to worst team in the SEC.</div>

MSU has won 1....ONE....SEC series this year.

1-2 vs. Vandy
3-0 vs. Auburn
0-3 vs. UGA that sucks
1-2 vs. Florida
1-2 vs. Arkansas
1-2 vs. South Carolina
1-2 vs. Alabama

Tennesee just got hammered 3 times by Vanderbilt, but I guarantee you their coach is telling them that the GOOD news is that they will get to play Mississippi State.

Congrats to MSU on winning today.

But if they lose 1 game to Tennessee, the entire staff should be fired up there and made to walk their butts back home. And if Stricklin hasn't got the nads to do that, he should be fired on the spot as well and told to hike it back toPapa Bailey's house.

On the road? By that logic, Ole Miss, Alabama, Georgia, and Kentucky should all fire their coaching staffs and AD's.

I'da hell ofa lot rather make the NCAAs as a 2 seed that made the SEC tournament than sneak in as a 3 seed that didn't. If you don't make the SEC tournament, you're one of the 4 worst teams in the SEC. That's not good. And even though the #9 SEC team has made the tournament in some years, it's far from a sure thing that you can make the tournament if you finish 9th. Hell, right now there's a real possibility we won't finish 9th. There's a real good chance we could finish 10th. And if we finish 10th, no way in hell we make the tournament.

To sum it up, if we make the SEC tournament, we're almost guaranteed an NCAA bid. If we don't, our chances are iffy at best. So yeah, making the SECT does mean something.

"Vanderbilt outscored the Volunteers 39-5 over the three-game series and Sunday's margin of victory was the largest in the series since 1899 when VU won 20-0. The three-game sweep of UT was the first for Vandy since 2008."

Vandy won 11-1, 11-1, and 19-3 over Tennessee this weekend.

Please tell me why Tennessee has enough talent to beat Alabama State....let alone Mississippi State.

Even Cohen can't suck at coaching that bad that he cannot get enough out of a team to beat UT 3 games. Or can he?

And failed to mention that UT beat Alabama twice. The same Alabama team that beat us twice. I would say UT is certianly capable of beating us- especially at home.

Now, since this series is on the road, I think we should take two out of three- but to fire the coaching staff if we don't sweep is a little extreme.

I just pray that Scott Stricklin isn't as irrational as some of our fans. I don't think he is, though.

I'll be shocked if this series is a sweep, and I think it's 50-50 as to whether we take 2 or lose 2 from them.

What a ridiculous post.
