Howard has never beaten Illinois as a coach. 0-6. Doubtful they make the NCAA tourney now.
Insane meltdown. Minny was down 10 very, very late! I’m not sure how I feel about this. How does this affect their psyche and motivation going into Sunday?
Much wailing and gnashing of teeth on the Rutgers Board about Mulcahy, etc. Looking for the Wildcats to take advantage of their discombobulation….
Hard to say. But, in general terms, I personally think it tends to not have an effect to start the game. But it increases the chances of having an effect late in a close game.
I mean, Penn State went through the same thing against Rutgers and we saw what happened in the next game...
Just like we saw what happened to us at IL, after we almost blew away a big lead against IU.
Both can happen, sure. But, in the majority of cases, confidence breeds confidence. Lack of confidence breeds lack of confidence.
And perhaps the longest Replay Review in the history of Replay Reviews. Utterly ridiculous!! Probably took 10 minutes!! Green and Sczelk were looking for any way to hand Rutgers that game. Was clear after a couple replays shot was off in time and the clock started upon first touch. Rutgers blew it by letting Minny roll the ball up to mid court.
